Sorry janaba, yes, I did get your correction. I'm focused on Episode 2 right now. Episode 3 is on my plate next week. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Episode 3 French translation was sent to you Marten
Also, I would suggest you to publish next Episodes at the same time for all langages. A kind of Worldwide Episode Release
From my point of vue, presenting an Episode already viewed in English by the majority of the members of a forum - or other community - is a little bit frustrating.
Mainly because the interest / attention for the target community is really not the same... in a second view. |

Interesting point, Amarok. We thought we were creating foreign language versions strictly for non-English speaking fans who did not or would not watch the English version first. We'll keep it in mind I'm sure. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Amarok,
A few thoughts...
1) If Jon-Tom would stop promoting the English version before French one is ready, it would help
2) I want to release all languages at the same time. But it is not easy.
3) If I can get a Spanish translator on board quickly, and if Professor Askew's anonymous Greek translator can decide if he (or she) is going to help or not, then with a little luck, Episode 3 could be released in all languages together.
English / German / French / Dutch / Italian / Spanish / Greek
But I do not have a Spanish or Greek translator right now. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I contacted Albert, who is very busy.
But I was hoping that he would pass the message on to others in the Spanish Uru Live community. I do not know if he ever did. Ian Atrus posted about my request on the Italian forum and thankfully this brought Leonardo onto the project (thank you again, Leonardo!). But I did not see a post from Albert on the Spanish Uru Live forums. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I have contacted Albert ... he's too busy.
Also, Albert is trying to contact another guy, but this guy is actually difficult to reach... Perhaps, you may contact Albert again ? |

Episode 3, Preview #4
http://marten.treeweasel.com/UntilUru/ep3test4.mov
This is the final public preview for this episode. There are a few more scenes not included (I still need to fit them together), and you'll see some artifacts from compositing during one of the transitions (a big box around Michael Engberg that shows how he was added to the scene) which I hope to correct in the final cut.
Todo list:
* Add remaining scenes (2 more interview cuts and Brian's secret meeting)
* Obscure Sharper's relto book (he shouldn't have one)
* Credits
* Translation versions _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Time is running short for feedback on the sample I posted. Please post any comments, constructive or destructive, if you have them.
I've solved the transition/matte conflict problem - I knew there had to be a way, and there is. It's called "use multiple sequences." Heh. Now that I know, I'll be updating the earlier episodes to fix a few specific transitions in those, too. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Ooop! Sorry man. I love the black and white sequences a lot. The effect is super.
The only problem is that when Brian stands up he's not standing on the edge of the lamp anymore. He's kind of floating in mid-air. The captions hide that fact a great deal, but between fading out and fading back in, he looks like he's levitating. _________________ KI: 34353 |

Interesting observation. I'll see what I can do. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Heh, sorry, I didn't know this had been posted! Wonder how I missed it...
B/W flashbacks - interesting idea. It took me a second to realize it was a flashback though, if one hasn't noticed the date of the protest they'll probly be confused initially. I don't know what can be done about that though. Are the flashback conversations tied to a particular statement of Brians?
re: The Fantastic Floating Fioca, I'm not anythinig can be done about that. It's is established that he's sitting on the pylon; when he is standing and then takes a seat I think it's plain that it's just a limitation of the game's physics engine.
Nice work! _________________

Hmm.
Only thing I can think of that maybe would help the flashbackishness is to borrow a technique out of Myst IV: Revelation, and add a blur mask around the edge of the scene so that it isn't as crisp as the protest scenes.
And yes, each flashback is triggered by specific comments Brian makes during the interview. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.
