Hi Guys, Shorah an’ all that…
Commiserations on the demise of the online saga. I have just joined the Big Tree Forum today – albeit I have read all the posts in the past – initially inspired by Maharet (catch up on the drift – so to speak). I took her prompt to catch up on the latest news by logging in for a peruse before embarking to the city. I have to confess to feeling a bit of an outsider on my journeys to the hood – you all, I have to say – did probably unwittingly, give the impression of being a ‘clique-ish’ lot (secret handshakes and all).
Understandably perhaps when you consider some of the ‘all and sundry clowns’ that permeated the online game. Never-the-less I could see a sense of togetherness was cultivating to future collaboration in solving some of the more complex puzzles that would arise in the game. What disturbed me – and probably others – was the ongoing friction with some of your members and the DRC – in a word – it put me off entirely. Not my scene – I imagine most true Myst/Exile/Riven fans want to discuss game strategy – end of story.
This is just my two cents – from an outsider – take it or leave it – good luck with the Big Tree – I could see it as the phoenixical (is there such a word) emulation of what could have been, had the ‘powers that be’ had the guts to carry on.
In other words, the forum has a great future for all members – your hood is here. Thank you Maharet it was my pleasure. It remains to be seen what will now aspire from The Big Tree.
And good luck Brian - you're doing a good job. _________________ Oh wad some pow'r the giftie gie us - tae see ourselfs as ithers see us |

It's all water under the bridge now, Tokai. Those were just growing pains you're referring to and when we resume Live some day (and I know we will) there may be some more of that. No big deal. We deal with each other openly and honestly and move on from there. But, we all agreed on many things and that's what kept us together.
I'm sorry you felt exluded, Tokai. I hope it was never done intentionally as that would have been the opposite of what we stand for. The door is, and always will be, open to all. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

I thank you for your response, you 'live' is inspirational' and I applaud your optimism. It's people like you that will inspire others to the Greta (did I type Greta - must be a fixation there), anyway - on with the subject - The Great Tree; As I was saying... I've read your past posts - you're quite a character - keep it up.
The Great Tree now will attract a lot of dismayed onliners - (I nearly almost had 5 sets of markers etc). I mean - it is sad isn't it?
Is there life after Uru live?
I rest my case... _________________ Oh wad some pow'r the giftie gie us - tae see ourselfs as ithers see us |
