Moved to Randomness forum; the above discussion tasted too OOC for me. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

It'd be nice to be able to do something there, but most of the time when I try to link I stack-dump out. So, I've been getting the news through the forums.. |

I crashed for the first time, in a long time, last night. But I got this heartwarming message when I reported it:
Quote: | Hi Marten -
Thanks for the perfectly-composed stack dump report - game logs,
location, and stack trace in the message... thanks for giving us everything
we need to log this

It's a funny thing. Now that I actually feel I'm playing the game... and having a good time... I'm more interested in filing defects when I encounter them. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I've really "enjoyed" everything this far...
Just one thing... and that's Wheely.
Wheely dying.... fine, good story element
Wheely being killed... hmmmmm
Wheely being slaughtered into pieces by a Bahro like one of the killed Reephas and Urwins... isn't that too extreme???
I don't know... |

Here's an obscure thought...
What if we're misinterpreting this "slaughter"? It sounds far too gruesome to be practical.
We know the Bahro seem to be able to link at will. What if now they are trying to will *others* to link? But something is going horribly wrong with the process, kind of like a sci-fi "teleporter accident".
What if the Bahro saw the impending collapse and the danger that Wheely was in... maybe they tried to "link" her to safety from afar, but either they don't know how to do that properly, or something went wrong with willing something or someone else to link
The "slaughters" in Negilahn could be construed as the Bahro practicing this act on a population center that seems limitless... not entirely different idea as sending chimps into space.
Not that i'm an advocate of animal testing... but it's just a thought. _________________ KI 182798

Has anyone read "Speaker Of The Dead"? It told of a pig-like species that would dismember a living being and arrange their organs in a special way in order to bring you to the next level of consciousness/existence - the greatest gift that they could give. Funny thing was, us humans kept dying when they tried it on us. _________________ Can we rebuild it? Yes, we can. |
