Given that the links I posted are to the website for the phpBB webboard itself, I think I will trust the programmers of the product more to know about phpBB security issues than a random other person.
Every release of phpBB since 2.0.5 has been issued for security issues and defects, not to introduce new features. That's 2.0.6, 2.0.7, 2.0.8, 2.0.9, 2.0.10, and now 2.0.11. That doesn't sound like "good stable" to me.
Hopefully, this site will be safe from infection by Santy.a because it relied upon Google to spread and Google has taken steps to block it. But, that's no excuse not to apply security fixes.
