Just wanted to let everyone know that I created the hood and will be around sometime this afternoon and evening to let people join up. I also created an invite but I'm not sure if it's a one time use, or if it can be used multiple times by different people. Anyway, of course the player name is Ashtar, and the passkey is:
greattree
Invites was not one of the commands I used that often during the prologue or with UU
It will be good being back in the hood again with all of you! Although it doesn't look like we are in a full restoration yet, I'm hoping that whoever is evaluating UU will see the dedication we have to the game. But I think that will take each one of us to participate as much as we can to bring the cavern back to life.

I think what's happening is that the ISPs that are late to update their DNS servers are causing the problem. At least, that's what I've been lead to believe. Since the IP address changed, and some people can connect, the client obviously tries to connect with a domain name instead of an IP. Which means that it needs to go through the DNS server. Which needs to be updated with the new IP. Which can take a while. And that is balls, frankly. _________________ KI: 34353 |

I'll probably make the trip down today, see if I can get access to the old hood. Will anyone with membership be down there this afternoon? |

Just to let you know, Kyven is now a hood member so he can bring in new people into the hood. I would post his KI number but don't like to do that for privacy reasons. My KI # is 55486.

Because of that DNS thing? I think some people figured out what to do about that over at Uru Obsession. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Apparently Jahuti on UO is working on a fix. Until then though, uh, you folks have fun in the Cavern? _________________ KI: 34353 |

I have a feeling that the excitement of this blow over in a few weeks and many people will migrate be back to their home shards. There are a number of issues I've been reading about, but I spose that's to be expected opening up a new shard like this. Lots of bugs to get worked out, though personally I have run into very few of them.
I think its great though that so many new folks can visit this shard. That would be my reason to hang out there (plus or minus any DRC interaction) - seeing friends from the forums that missed the Kagi keys. No userki plus huge amounts of lag plus no new content equals not many reasons to hang out there beyond the company though!

Really? Tyrehl? How's he doing? Did you speak with him? How long? What is he up to, if anything? I'll look for him next time I'm down there. Thanks, Eleri. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |
