Hmm this is the strangest launch of any game I have ever seen. I hope there is not another vualt wipe between the GT Preview (prologue) and the "Official Launch". Hopefully this is mostly so they can motivate people to join GT rather then waiting for the stand alone variation. Not to mention hammering out some of the bugs. _________________ KI# 00635697 |

Argh, all of these betas and prologues are driving me nuts! Well, I guess if we can wait three (plus?) years we can wait another few weeks (hopefully). I trust Cyan is taking the proper steps to make this bird have a successful liftoff. _________________

I'm somewhat concerned that this Prologue is actually just a delaying tactic as they scramble to fix bugs that have forced them to delay the official launch. Somewhat worrying as its very reminiscent of 2003/2004. Here's hoping, though. |

I can't deny that the parrallels with prologue don't disturb me slightly. Also I am left wondering if us internationals will still be able to access it being sans Gametap as we are.
I suppose the situation is vastly improved over last time though, as all those who access the preview through Gametap are already paying a monthly subscription fee.
Hmm |

Heh, I just realised I called it "this Prologue." What I meant to say was "This Preview." Obviously I'm more concerned about it then I first realised |

You and all the other international players are straight-up being left out in the cold until Live launches, seeing as the "prologue" phase is for GT subscribers only.
We'll keep a light on for you, though. You'll be kept abreast of everything that's going on, believe you me! _________________ KI: 34353 |

I agree with the assessment that Cyan's missed their launch date and this is the way they're "launching without really launching."
PS: I know I posted this in 'The Cavern', but perhaps it is time to do a little forum cleanup and move this thread to a more appropriate place. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I'm really worried and sad now about all this...
It seems like the international community is being neglected... I know (hope) that's not the case, but there even isn't a clarification about this. A word from Gametap / Cyan about this, would be nice. |

I think they are more concerned with getting the game launched and starting to bring in revenue. I am sure they will address the international issues when they can but launch is the priority right now.
Just my 2 cents. _________________ KI# 00635697

That's true, but the international community is very upset about this...
And launch is the priority, but it would only be a "half" launch, because a half of the community won't be able to be there... |

mmm... Aren't a whole bunch of new countries being introduced to Gametap in January? Maybe it's not as bad as it sounds, you'll only be out of the loop for a week and half or so... _________________

Many of the questions regarding international Explorers have been answered HERE.
And it's good news. Yay for the un-Americans! Wait....that didn't sound right. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |
