Okay, I just have to check this with you guys because it's driving me NUTS.
I've been putting off finishing the journey in Uru Live for a year now because while I love the scenery in Gira/Kemo, I hate having to complete it with that stupid basket puzzle. I've done it once way back when (Uru Prime), and I didn't relish having to do it again.
Marten, Dan, and Annacat were thoughtful and began to give me a hand with the age a few weeks ago. They placed the first basket when I started crashing profusely. After the sixth or seventh crash, I called it a night.
Anyways, I'm right on the brink of completing the ages: I have both "bridges" set, I have my fireflies, and I can get to the last cave. But now I can't turn on the steam light! I've tried it twice now (tried once, closed Uru, and restarted it) but my pointer doesn't indicate that I can click on the steam light. (Yes, I have the fireflies with me.) I should be able to do this, right? Is this just a bug, or am I missing something? (This is frustrating...) _________________

Well that's annoying
Nope it should work. You should try ticketing the problem, see what the ResEngs have to say. They might be able to help out.
What other Ages have you got to go after the Journey Eders? |

Sometimes you have the fireflies although URU thinks that you don't have them. And sometimes it's the other way round. Get rid of the fireflies, get new ones, and try it again. |

If the problem that Erik is describing is happening, then I suspect that's a behavioral regression... I haven't seen that issue happen in a long time. (Then again, I don't go dancing with fireflies every day.) I'd definitely suggest calling a ResEng while you're there, and finding that you cannot click on the lamp. The ResEng can then teleport in and maybe investigate what is happening.
On a related note, have you identified and terminated the cause of your crashing? _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

No, it should work with or without the fireflies... I believe they're only
needed for illuminating the cave and thus finding the hotspot to be
able to turn on the steam... And even turning on the steam is
not important...you need the light of it to find the cloth, that's all...
So, if you know it's location, you should be done with that...
Anyway, that might be a bug, Saxy... maybe you should try it again
with anybody of us, who might be more lucky to get the hotspot... /shrug |

Nope, the hotspots in the dark caves are coded not to appear unless you have fireflies around you. While helping Saxy that night, I noticed Annacat's KI light was visible to me and while I was able to navigate the two of us about the cave using her light we could not activate any of the hotspots. |

You're wrong about that Janaba.
The hotspot is only there when URU thinks you have your fireflies or when you've done the puzzle before. It's against cheating, so that you can't raise your gamma or something to get to the cave.
The problem is that URU sometimes "forgets" you have your flies with you as I described in my earlier post. |

Haha... So, the only one who benefits from your posts
is me ...hehe...
Right now I know better, but what about our Saxy? Is it possible,
if somebody of us would accompany her, with Saxy or him/her
surrounded by the fireflies, to have a greater chance?
But in general, it seems to be something worth sending a ticket, yeah...
Or trying out the ResEng suggestion, Marten proposed... |

Well I should be about later tonight. I'm putting the finishing touches on a presentation which should take me quite late into the night here. I may well end up working on it somewhere more ambient than my living room, Relto, Tsogahl maybe. So if your wanting a hand tonight Sax I should be about. |

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I took Erik's advice last night and was able to accomplish the task. I went into Kemo and got the fireflies, or so I had thought. I linked back to Gira, and although I was glowing with that firefly light, there were no fireflies around me. So I linked back to Kemo and tried the fireflies again and it worked; I was able to link back with fireflies. Now I just have the cleft and I'll be done with the original journey! Yay! _________________
