I also see no harm in leaving some basic systems online. Imager power consumption is negligible and mucking with the lattice at this point is a headache I don't need. The cavern fans are a debatable point. I vote to keep them running.

Quote: | OK - along these lines:
- Kirel is secure, including the stones.
- I've adjusted KI and Nexus features for minimal support while the Cavern is unoccupied. (Though, now of all times, the remote upgrade feature actually appears to be working.)
- As discussed, I'll be coordinating our surface rendez-vous. Last ship (so to speak) leaves at 5 PM today.
- There's nothing that can be done of course, but we were close. I so wanted to see the Zero calibrated and powered up. I feel like Moses who got to glimpse the promised land but was forbade entry. Others may succeed...perhaps we will see it.
One issue remains: I've heard that a certain someone is putting up quite a fuss about leaving. It's no surprise, really. The headache continues. I say leave him. I trust our security measures.

LOL. That'd work on me, Kyven!
So, is he talking about Zandi, here? _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

I think Laxman is talking about Sharper. _________________ KI: 00332200 |

That was my first thought except that I remembered Brian posted this:
Quote:
Thank you all for your support. It seems, however, none of it was meant to be. Who would have ever thought?
I wonder if we could have changed things...
I guess I always will.

Doesn't sound like a man who's sticking around. Plus, we did receive that message from Zandi on our KI. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

I was thinking Zandi as well, especially after the KI message he sent yesterday. Or maybe Phil is refusing to leave? |

Zandi was never much of a problem, Sharper on the other hand has really annoyed them.

Sounds more like Sharper is commenting on the explorers leaving.

I thought that the DRC didn't know where Phil is. _________________ KI: 00332200 |

I don't know Zandi can be a 'headache' to them and has been in the past. He posted the same message 'The Gathered will tell of the path of the shell' on the DRC site some months ago which they quickly deleted. He also left a signature at the end of every posting Laxman or someone else from the DRC made for a short period of time, which was quite funny. |

We'll just have to wait a month and hope we run into him. _________________ KI: 00332200 |

Change of mind here
I think it's Phil that's not leaving the Cavern, just been reading an old chat log in which he says he never leaves the cavern to go up to the surface. Where's Sharper regularly goes up to the surface, Zandi rarely if ever comes down beneath the surface. So I think Phil could be the one still down there. |

But he's missing, isn't he? So if they don't know where he is and he doesn't communicate with them, how do they know he is 'refusing' to leave? _________________

I agree with Farlesis. At first glance it seems to be Sharper, but the real headache was Phil. He knew about the DRC advances and possibly their plans. I think it's Phil. _________________

I still think it's Zandi. There's the final Zandi message, the fact that he was (apparently) on Yeesha's side since well before Phil, and the fact that, frankly, I don't think Sharper would enjoy being the only power in the cavern if there was nobody else to see it. _________________ The laws contrived by the Proud are their security, and their undoing.
