MsLorene and I were planning on visiting Cyan today, but we decided to wait until after the first XP came out. From talking to the receptionist, they are working their buns off trying to get it ready So even if we did visit, they probably wouldn't much time except to say "Hi", and then out the door.
What we were thinking of was to perhaps have a Great Tree Pizza Day at Cyan after the XP was released. At least then, they won't be under the pressure they are now. MsLorene and I could co-ordinate the event on behalf of the Great Tree. I have a PayPal account, so any donations could be sent to the account, with postings of the account status if anyone wanted to make sure it was handled properly. We could also get ahold of Bill Slease or Ryan Miller to see how many pizza's it would take to feed that hungry crew
I did some checking on prices with Domino's. If ordered in a quantity of say 20 pizza's, a Large 2-topping pizza would be $6.95 each. So if it was 20 pizza's, the total would be about $150 including our 8.1% sales tax.
So what do the rest of you think? Opinions please!!
-------------------------------------------------------------
OK, first my donation will be $25. I figure since MsLorene and I planned this, at least I could do would be to make a good contribution. If we don't reach our goal of $150, then I will cover the rest. If it happens to go over $150, do you want the rest to go to the professor for covering the costs of the jackets for Cyan, or just post a message stating we have reached our goal?
The eMail address for the PayPal payment is: JGAGER@ATTBI.COM
I figure a donation of $5-$10 each should be sufficient for those who want to participate.
When the professor has the jackets and can get them to me, then we will make our trip out to Cyan. I guess I need to get my jacket on order. The only thing I have is a DRC T-shirt and that certainly won't do _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208

Sounds like a great idea! Too bad I'm halfway across the country...
Maybe we could time things to give them a few jackets at the same time, since we were planning on sending 'em a few anyway? _________________ The laws contrived by the Proud are their security, and their undoing. Such laws make disobedience a virtue and obedience a sin. |

Ask the GoG about the amount of pizza to send (since they already did that). _________________ * Ad Space Available * |

I think this a wonderful idea. When I suggested you pay them a visit I was only kidding. But, I guess that's because I live on the other side of the country. But, you're really there! So, why not?
I'm willing to chip in on the pizza day as long as there's enough people contributing to bring the price down to $10 or $15 dollars apiece. It would be awesome to have representatives of the Great Tree present the jackets in person.
I should be seeing the new sample of the jacket in the next day or two. If I green-light the style and color, then I'll whip up the artwork, and then...jackets!
Yes, Kehrin, get the PayPal account. It's very easy to do and makes doing business easy and worry-free. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Not a fan of Domino's Pizza, but still disappointed that I could miss such an event. _________________

Me either, Moon. I belonged to the Lyster's Hood.
We could also find out if something else would be preferable to pizza. Eloise would know.

Um... A3's are a Canada thing, right? What are they exactly? I've heard them mentioned and wondered.

On February 20, the Guild of Greeters hosted a "Pizza Day" for all Cyan employees consisting of 15 pizzas and 4 boxes of Domino's Dots, along with the following note:
Dear Cyan Employees,
Can you help us? The Guild of Greeters was planning on getting these pizzas delivered to the cavern for a party in our hood… but we seem to have lost the directions… and Zandi’s nowhere to be found!
Since we’d prefer they not go to waste, please accept them as a small token of our gratitude for your past and future work, for creating worlds for us to explore, and giving us a glimpse of the future that is so strong that even in it’s absence, the community it spawned has continued on with a life of its own.
Enjoy these, and know that there is at least one group of people that wish you nothing but success in the future, whatever that future might hold.
Sincerely,
Members of the
Guild of Greeters
However, a little penguin told me that Cyan's computer gurus never get tired of pizza... _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

Not to worry, Moon... I still have your e-mail address!
I'm on Arowin's list of beta testers for an Add-On tool that will allow peer to peer URU gameplay. I promise to send it to you, if we get the bugs worked out...

Well it looks like there is a little bit of interest Before I get too far, I want to make sure it's OK with Brian, Daedalus, and the Great Tree leaders. Sure don't want to go stepping on any toes, and they might have some other ideas in mind. _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208
