The Great Tree

Members of the group The Great Tree are explorers who have aligned themselves with the Great Tree's philosophy and purposes that were established during Prologue (I'm looking for links to these right now). Message board posting members may or may not necessarily agree with The Great Tree but are able to discuss matters on the forum. We didn't want to block out everyone completely because that'd close lines of communication... and that's not what we're about. Smile

More Great Tree members will be added after Live starts up again and we get a better feeling for certain people.

Great question, Halvor! Members of the group consist of those who have been members in the Cavern or have participated here at the forum or the web site. This is a story-driven group and, to a greater or lesser extent, we all participate. When Uru Live takes off we don't want 10,000 registered users of this forum (you never know) to think they're automatically members of The Great Tree. We're just staying organized while it's still a simple task. People who wish to join The Great Tree officially can let us know here or in the Cavern once it's been re-opened.

Saxy and Prof are correct.

Also, I'd like to point out that in Prologue there were consequences for joining The Great Tree (as well as rewards!), so we don't want to drag anyone into something before they know what they're getting in to.

Great point, Brian. Being a member of The Great Tree isn't something to be taken lightly. I'm not implying that you are, Halvor, but being associated with TGT can make for an intense Live experience.

Pretty much other than keeping our books organized and giving you a pretty branch under your name, the only thing you get with the "member" status is access to a members-only section of the forum, which isn't really interesting unless you happen to be a member of the Great Tree already.
