Mystlander: If you read my posting closely, you will see where I stated that the letter was written by our resident historian Possibly the reason he used Guild is that there is probably no D'ni equivalence to the word "movement".
Gadren: I'm sure Farlesis will check out your claims for the D'ni Grammar and will make any corrections that are necessary. But it's good that the fans are keeping us on our toes _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208

I don't think The Great Tree is recognized as an official Guild, but rather a "movement." Perhaps you should check with our resident historian, Farlesis.

Hi Mystlander
It was originally going to say 'pizza's from the Great Tree Forum', but there are no D'ni words for pizza or forum, that I know of, so I had to substitute the words, pizza became food and forum became guild. If people aren't happy with the word 'guild' then I will change to something more else.
Gadren I'll drop you a line over the weekend sometime, I do have the IPDe, but having reading some posting I think on the Myst Community board that the IPDE is just as flawed as any other translation I'm little hesitant to use it. A lot of the translations I got from here:
http://www.eldalamberon.com/dni_dict.htm
I'm no expert in the D'ni language and I'm learning it like everyone else, but thanks for pointing this out. |

I think it's great, and I also think that guild works fine, but if you relly want different words, what about these?

Group would be OK, but to tell you the truth, I don't think Cyan is going to demand absolute accuracy in the letter we present. When I read the translation, they will realize that our thoughts comes from the heart, not some piece of paper. Sure, we want to make it as nice of a letter as possible but I don't think we need to pick it apart piece by piece _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208

hey, the translation is fine, i don't want you to use the IPDE for that, because it's unreliable...but do use the IPDE http://www.geocities.com/tayganyavo/ipde/ for transliteration. once you have the message in Old Standard, convert it to d'ni Script form... |

|
|
I got a confirmation from Bill Slease today that the 16th. is still a go. The professor received the jackets and I should have those for the Cyan employees by next Wednesday. I ordered the pizza's (15 large) today, plus a couple 30 piece orders of wings. I don't know how hungry those young programmers are, but I don't want them complaining that they didn't have enough to eat MsLorene and I will be there to share the fun, but we wish the rest of you could be there with us. We will be sure to take plenty of pictures so at least we can share those. Thanks to everyone here for making this a possibility. Yeesha and Sharper would be proud _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208

And don't forget to spy.....spying is important. Maybe MsLorene can distract everyone in some way, maybe a Great Tree puppet show, and you can get lost on the way to the bathroom.
Seriously, have a great time and carry the spirit of the group with you.
Mmmmm...pizza sounds good....... _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

I was thinking of taking a picture of Rand as he stands besides one of the screens showing a XP2 scene. Needless to say, my camera shifted right at the last moment and all I got was the screen shot. Sorry Rand _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208

Hahahaha... Great find, Zen! I especially like the "green fog light" effect glowing from the fissure.
Only FIVE more days to go... Hope the jackets make it in time to be delivered along with the pizza! _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

Wow... tomorrow is "C-day" (where C=Cyan)...
Ashtar, I know you will leave a great tree impression on the Cyan Crew. Just don't tell them about the "hidden camera"... _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212
