|
|
Hi peeps~
I wanted to plug the concert I'm playing clarinet in for my Seattle-area friends who might be interested (and I hope they come ).
The Washington Wind Symphony is playing a Haunting Winds concert at the Kirkland Performance Center on Sunday, October 29 at 3:00 PM.
We'll be playing some spookily and beautifully haunting melodies such as Eric Whitacre's "Ghost Train," Gustov Holst's "Moorside Suite," Saint-Saëns's "Danse Macabre," and Charles Gounod's "Funeral March of a Marionette" (think 'Alfred Hitchcock theme' ).
Adults are $11, seniors and youth are $5. If you have a grade school-aged child, let me know and I'll forward you the email that can get them in for free.
Hope to see you there!
The WWS website wrote: | The Washington Wind Symphony comprises 45-50 dedicated musicians who gather once per week for the enjoyment of the preservation of classic wind band literature. Performing a four concert season at Kirkland Performance Center, the musicians have gained popularity on the Eastside of Seattle. In 2001, the group performed live for the Live By George show on KING FM 98.1. |

I'm holding you to it, Jana! (That'd be soo neat.)
Well, I'm sure you have some opportunities to see beautiful classical concerts at gorgeous venues in Germany, right? You have a lot of historical structures that would create great accoustics! BTW, where in Germany do you live? _________________

Hey Saxy,
For some reason, I am now getting this for your picture:
REMOTE LINKING FORBIDDEN
Freeservers does not support remote linking of images or files for FREE accounts.
PLEASE UPGRADE YOUR ACCOUNT.
Apparently the symphony is using a free account provider that objects to this... _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Understandably so. I've been using that picture for promotional reasons on the internet for two years and the provider has never had a problem with it before. Oh well. *shrug* Thanks for bringing it to my attention. _________________

I'll be there in Spirit.... The Funeral March of the Marionette was the song I chose to program in my first advanced computer programming class (6th grade on an Atari 800 !! ) It holds a special place in my heart... um... the song, not the Atari.

Sorry, Salem Oregon. Nothing particularly spooky there, unless you find the Oregon Legislature spooky. (Creepy maybe... ) |
