Here is a little side project I'm tinkering with. Will probably replace the music track with another version if I can get a better one.

That's an eerily and startingly appropriate song for Uru, Marten. Gave me goosebumps. So far so good! ^_^d _________________

I've gotten my hands on the original version of the song.
I'll also shift this mini-project over to Premiere Pro soon Right now it's just a proof of concept thrown together in Windows Movie Maker.
I'm looking for suggestions of other scenes that fit the lyrics to this song.
Thanks for the positive feedback so far _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Wow, Marten... extremely nice video, thus far! I don't know how you find the time to create all these marvelous videos, especially with your documentary schedule. _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

Uruglow Test #2
* Shifted to Premiere Pro
* Final version of song selected
* Entire song now presented
* Lower quality video and audio for now (I like to keep the tests small)
* Re-ordered several scenes, open with new Gahreesen scene, added Cleft, replaced prior Gahreesen scene with Teledahn
* Temporary footage finishes out the video

Prologue Documentaries? I'm still on vacation on that. Professor Askew is working on #4. If MJ will post her script for #5, I'll start looking at that, though. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Test one is beautiful. I'll get the third version when I get home tonight, where it will look and sound better. |

These are mostly little timing tweaks and comments on the stuff I really loved...
The transition from Gahreesen to Teledahn right at the beginning really ties in the Teledahn pan, I take back what I said earlier.
The scene with the cleft looks great and is super well timed.
The turning-descending scene in Teledahn is AWESOME, but it really dominates the shot of Gira that follows it. I know a lot of your shots are really long takes, but it might help to divide the Gira shot in two, one angle for each line of the song it takes up... alternatively, maybe the Gahreesen prison shot you had in place of the Teledahn shot might look interesting to follow it up, since it has the same motion... Maybe Gahreesen for "And the sounds that echoed all around me" and Gira for "I caught a glimpse of in the night".
The timing on the hanging banner could be tweaked a bit... I can't for the life of me figure out if the great tree insignia should appear a little bit earlier or a little bit later but something about the timing seems off. It's that shield-shaped part at the bottom, I think, that's throwing things off. Maybe the top bar of the triangular thing needs to appear in sync with the "I give to you..." lyric, because like the lyric builds up to "my soul" just as the lower triangular part of the banner leads up to the great tree symbol.
Shot in Kemo in rainstorm: BRILLIANT! It almost feels like it should last a little bit longer, even up to "In a world..." and then transition to Kadish for "... I used to know before".
The fade between the full vault and the empty vault should be a tad bit more drawn out, because between that and the fade after "I give to you my soul" there's not a whole lot to look at. The transition itself is the really fascinating part about that shot, and having it happen really quickly and then continue panning across a dark wall is kind of anticlimactic.
The really long pan out in Ahnonay superb! My only nitpicky complaint is the timing (yes, again, the timing): the fades should end before the first beat at the start of the measure, rather than begin at the first beat at the start of the measure, so that the music can give it the proper "punctuation". As it is, it's punctuating the last frame or so of the previous shot.
Really wicked video as usual, man. _________________ KI: 34353 |

Beautiful, Marten! I can't wait to see the finished version and push it on my non-Uru friends. >:D
Parts of it seemed too dark for me to be able to see the scenery very well. A few shots in Kemo rain, and the "dust" scene in Teledahn, for example. Would it be detrimental to brighten some scenes a bit? _________________ ~Moiety Jean

The final video will be brighter.
Excellent comments from Cycreim and I'll try to make some adjustments there as well _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.
