Sorry Akiva, I hope you read this... I mean to tell you this when I was in Gira, but I managed to get one PM off and my KI went totally on the fritz and turned itself off. I haven't been able to get it back on again, so I may as well post this here.
Joining the 'hood to us equals becoming a Great Tree member, and the qualities that make us think yes, this is a good Great Tree member is something we haven't been able to put our finger on yet. Who knows if we'll ever figure it out.
Anyway. You've made an effort to join the forum (despite having frequent problems -- check your gmail, Brian), you've shown a lot of passion about joining. Personally, I'd be more than happy to invite you into the 'hood, and to make you a member, but I want to let the other GT members in on it before I do that.
Yeah, we're a weird group.
I appreciate your patience on this, though. Sorry to leave you hanging! _________________ KI: 34353 |

Didn't I read recently that we are just letting anyone join the 'hood so that it stayed higher on the Nexus listings? |

Dcos... it wasn't joining the 'hoods that bumped it up on the lists... it was encouraging people to visit. Higher populations make it higher on the lists.. not higher membership.
It seems that the good people at Google built the Nexus Interface.. _________________ KI 182798

I think maybe the confusion is from another thread where it was stated that to bump it up on the nexus list, make the hood private and then public again. But that's not the same sort of "public" as meaning that people can just walk in and bwalla they're members. Different animal. When hoods drop off the nexus list, the public/private switch is a way to get it back on there, that's all. Purely a visibility and accessibility issue.
Also, the nexus list can be resorted alphabetically and by current visitors, just fyi. _________________
