Since it is unlikely I'll be getting to Mysterium this year (insert small rant about Mysterium scheduling flaws here), and since we've talked about it in the past, do we want to do a Mysterium-like gathering here in Seattle?
My personal visualization would be a very casual 'family reunion' sort of gathering, with informal hanging-out on Friday, Maybe some more organized stuff on Saturday morning, followed by a backyard BBQ on Saturday night, and more casual hanging out on Sunday.
Just looking at my schedule, I'm thinking the middle to end of August would be good.
What do you guys think? _________________

y'know, mysterium is for myst fans anyways, there is no convention for Uru fans.
I'd say if someone started an official Uru gathering, it'd be pretty cooooooool. Uruium? _________________ KI: 40864 |

I'd love to do that, Eleri! I can't think of anything we have planned for August just yet... _________________ ~Moiety Jean

If enough of The Great Tree wanted to take part in a Seattle Uruium I'd be tempted not to bother with Mysterium this year. I don't care much for the chosen location and the only reason for me to go would be to see you guys. Hmmmm... _________________ ~Moiety Jean

Ponder ponder.
If we -do- do Mysterium, we should consider if we wanted to do a presentation this year. And make the deadline.
Think I'd be up for a Seattle weekend in August though _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Ooh, melikes this idea! I'd definitely be up for it. Considering that my wedding is one week after Mysterium... I don't think I'd be going anyways. But I don't have anything planned for the end of August yet. That'd be fantastic!
Psst, I miss you guys. _________________

I shall take this as a universally pleasing idea, and start some planning.
Finding a hotel that is a)affordable b)not far from the airport and/or has a shuttle and/or designating someone as the airport taxi and c)not far from here, cause we can host the BBQ is an important thing, and I wouldn't want to announce the date anywhere, until we had the hotel arranged. _________________

Several of you already have open invitations to lodge at the Fioca house.
If we wanted to do Seattle things (underground tour, zoo, aquarium, Garrison - I mean REI, gasworks park, whatevs) I suggest a hotel closer to Seattle or north Seattle than the airport, so it's easier for us all to group with minimal driving. There are several buses that also service the airport and one which is fairly direct from the airport to downtown. _________________ ~Moiety Jean

That looks good, Eleri! Not as expensive as the place I was investigating. Pretty good spot, too. The university area is pretty. I wonder how many rooms we'd need.
::looks left, looks right::
Raise your hand if you're entertaining the idea of attending this thing!
If we can figure how many hopefuls we've got we could see if they have a group rate... _________________ ~Moiety Jean
