Anyone living in Boston may have heard of the A-Cappella group named Five o' Clock Shadow. Well, they were my favorite group, and their break up at the end of 2003 is just another thing on the list (which includes URU Live's end) of things that SUCK about these past few months.
The following is a song called Tribute which was written in about 1994 for a friend of theirs who had cancer, but has been used for many events since then. I thought that, to some extent, it fit here:
Quote: | My friends, the crossroads are near.
Soon we shall say to each other
Another farewell.
So now let's live for the moment,
Sing one more song of elation,
One more glass of good cheer.
Though the chapter shall end
When we turn the page,
Let us sing a tribute to life
As friends.
My friends,
Take pride in our years.
We've borne the seeds of tradition
With friends gathered near.
Let's raise our glasses high.
Let's toast in honor of memories
In thanks for the times.
Though the chapter shall end
When we turn the page,
The end of this night
Is the end of our age.
As we all set forth
To find our own way,
Let us sing a tribute to life
As friends, as friends...
As friends. |

I really hope things start to look up for you taniith, nice tribute. _________________ May you always have these blessings...
A soft breeze when summer comes,
A warm fireside in winter,
And always the warm, soft smile of a friend.

That's a really nice tribute Taniith, thank you for sharing it.
I've been listening to Enya's album 'The Memory of Trees', that seems kind of appropiate and fitting as well. |
