I saw something the other day about a dude who set the record for reciting from memory pi to 100,000 decimal places or something. I'll hafta see if I can dig that story up again.
edit: Here we go, it was in News of the Weird.
News of the Weird wrote: | Akira Haraguchi, 60, spent 16 straight hours on Oct. 4 reciting the value of pi from memory to 100,000 decimal places, breaking his old record of 83,431. Haraguchi, whose day job is psychiatric counselor, performed in front of officials at a public hall in Kisarazu, Japan, and rattled off the numbers continuously except for a five-minute break every hour. (In 2002, two University of Tokyo mathematicians, using a supercomputer, calculated pi to 1.24 trillion decimal places.) |

I moved this topic to Randomness Forum, as it didn't pertain to Uru Expansions, and the conversation certainly seems random. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Congratulations, everyone, for completely derailing Robbie's poast. Doesn't happen here at GT very often but you all did a spectacular job.
Robbie, please accept our most sincere apologies. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

If I told you it came from my brain, I get the feeling that MJ would try to lure me to her house with candy...
... so I'll just say I got it from Wikipedia. _________________ KI 182798

Oooh ooh, how's this:
I'd like to see Akira Haraguchi in the Myst games to be a problem-solving helper or entertainment by reciting pi on command.
Sorry, Robbie. Thread hijacking doesn't happen often at the GT! _________________

I think "myst game6" is soon to become a synonym for "free-for-all randomness". _________________
