You need to read this article from Gamers Europe:

The best, and probably the most accurate accessment on the demise of Uru Live that I have read so far. It brings back a lot of good memories we had together as fellow explorers and friends. _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208

That is an awesome article. It describes so many of the feelings I've had about Uru Live that I've been unable to clearly express. Thanks for the link Ashtar. _________________ Jaharen

Same with me. Including other people not understanding. (There are real people here and you're just playing in you fantasy uru-land) (see also: AAAAARRRRGGGG!!!!! in the RANDOMNESS FORUM) It really sucks tat the one place I could go to meet lots of people, besides school, was closed down. It was tough to live with (Hey! Did I say you could talk?" and now it's impossible. _________________ No-one has explained WHY a raven is like a writing desk! |

Good link Ashtar, I think we should all add our 'penny's worth' to the article - perhaps the 'powers that be' may give it a peruse. _________________ Oh wad some pow'r the giftie gie us - tae see ourselfs as ithers see us |

Thanks for the great link Ashtar. This has to be one of the most thoughtful articles I've read over the few weeks regarding the end of Uru Live, it's not the usual knee jerk reaction, but an honest and thoughtful piece. |

Any possibility that Cyan will include IP & LAN capabilities in their explansion packs? If so, we could continue our Journey together in smaller groups... _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

One thing Cyan will never do is hand out their well-funded server software if there's any hope Live will come back someday....
Actually.... that is, unless they forced a check with a central server as a way of cashing in on server activity between players, and controlling/regulating that technology.... well, there's an idea.
Cheap, too. Anyway.... _________________ Just try not to think about it |

What is described above is the same basic setup as NovaWorld, an online gaming server for games produced by NovaLogic. Perhaps RAWA could set up CyanWorld, an online gaming server for games produced by Cyan? _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

I think the optimal solution would probably be for someone to hack/code a "Neverwinter Nights" type setup. That way, we'd still get to be online together, but there wouldn't be any real complications with re-releasing Live, and it costs Cyan nothing...
