I pretty much can't post here, because I know things that I'm legally not allowed to talk about, but it's fun to speculate. That's what this forum is for. Maybe a little rumor mongering, too. _________________ #Brian Fioca

Well you know, all rumors start with a hint of truth. Care to start the rumor mongering, Brian? _________________ Jaharen

I'm actually curious as to what you guys think it will be.
Do you think it'll be radically different than Myst? Or will they somehow tie it back to the D'ni storyline?
Whatever it will be, it'll sure be Something Else (tm) _________________ #Brian Fioca

Well Cyan Worlds has their name still, so I would consider how that would play into their next project. Obviously "Worlds" is tied to Myst, but it could also stand for many worlds or ideas. Knowing Cyan's devotion to all things D'ni, I would hope their next "world" would be as fully fleshed out and intricate as the one we have all come to enjoy, even if it doesn't preside in a lowly old cavern under New Mexico. |

I think Cyan is going to do something radically different. As wonderful as the Myst series is, they've been working on it for 15 years now. I'd want a new project after that long. I saw some game about rescuing people from an island shaped like a guitar. I hope they don't do anything that corny. _________________ Jaharen

Well as far as adventure games go, the definition is pretty open to interpretation. Cyan's ongoing theme (if previous games are any indication) is having an element of exploration and discovery. Even Metroid and Tomb Raider had exploration elements, and there's a lot of open ground for Cyan to push forward into.
I personally would like to see them get their name back in the running with games that would garner more appeal, perhaps even be released on the consoles as a primary market. As great as Cyan's stories may be, I believe that for their next iteration of games they must place the same amount of focus on gameplay. We've come much further than throwing switches and pushing buttons, and I think Cyan knows that. |

lol, I can probably get away with saying 'no' to that question, because anything else would be hugely disappointing. _________________ #Brian Fioca

From what I've heard, I'm pretty sure it's going to be fairly linear story-telling in an interactive way, which I'm excited about. Myst, Riven, etc. . . it's always been the story for me. Sure, puzzles can be fun (frustrating, too), but that's never what I was there for: I wanted to hear the story. I'm waiting for Myst V and hoping that it will satiate my desire for a story about Yeesha. |

I'll just be happy with whatever comes our way. Uru is alive again, and I'm back with intelligent people. Also, I don't have to worry about leveling up, which is a huge relief... *An orc links in* GAH!!! I take it back! *Casts Hellfire level 4 and links away to Relto* |
