Well, LaReh, that just stinks. Have you tried uninstalling the demo and re-installing? I can't understand why it's interracting with your system like that. Does it go to the blue screen as soon as you click on the executable file? Or does it happen further on? _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

After days of grueling troubleshooting I have finally discovered what appears to be the root cause of the problem. Defective RAM~!
At the suggestion of Deledrius over at COBBS, I tried a program called MemTest86 and (lo and behold!) I do have RAM issues. So, sometime this weekend, I hope to get some new RAM and see what happens. Del also pointed me to a forum post somewhere where a guy had the exact error problem I did and RAM was his solution. Running the MemTest program was an eye-opener for me. It seems that RAM can be partially defective but still be read by Windows as functional.
Anyhoo, wish me luck, I'll report back later with results! |

Good to hear, LaReh! RAM is practically a non-issue nowadays. Not overly expensive...and who couldn't use more RAM? Hope it all works out and you get to test drive Myst V soon. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |
