OK, I think after this conversation I'm going to have the song "I Had a Hat" stuck in my head of the rest of my life.
Thanks.
*wanders off singing*

Okay, it's on my schedule.
Now, to practice my lines.
Phil: If you only knew the power of the Dark Link. Victor never told you what happened to your father . . .
Zardoz: He told me enough! He told me you linked him!!
Phil: No . . . I am your father!
Zardoz: No. No. That's not true. That's impossible.
Phil: Search your Relto book. You know it to be true.
Zardoz: Nooooo. Nooooo.
I'm ready. |

OMG!! I never thought anyone other than the Irish side of my family knew that song, AnnaCat! My late grandfather taught it to me and my sisters when we were wee lads and lasses...
In fact, i'm willing to bet there's film footage of a much younger me singing it whaile standing on the kitchen table... but I digress.
Thanx for the memory flood. _________________ KI 182798

Yep! I hear it in the pub a lot. It's one of the Government Rams' specialities.
I in turn am surprised someone else on this board knows the same somewhat violent and threatening song about a hat! Your family has good taste in music.

Can that be on the reel too?

Okay... ugh, this is going to be a busy month for yours truly, Prof.
I'll be there a bit early, if I can. Zardoz if you can help me block out some of the scene that would be awesome, I want to play Phil as close to what he was like when he first came through that door.
Sweet. Prof, we would not have been able to get this far without you. Props. _________________ KI: 34353 |

My memory's abit fuzzy, but this will do:
Opening: I arrive in Eder Kemo and jog off toward the center - at this point, I had just been told to go here, and didn’t know for sure why I was there. As it turns out, Phil is behind the journey door.
(11/19 15:46:56) phend: hello?
(11/19 15:47:20) Zardoz: Hello?
(11/19 15:47:36) phend: hello...
(11/19 15:47:50) Zardoz: Is that you, Phil?
(11/19 15:48:02) phend: dark...
At this point, I figured out that he was behind the door - if I recall, I was nearby.
(11/19 15:48:13) phend: yes
I open the journey door. Phil is standing right behind it.
(11/19 15:48:28 ) phend: whoa, where am I
(11/19 15:48:37) Zardoz: This is Eder Kemo
Phil emerges from the cave. He wanders around, but only for very short distances (a few steps here and there).
(11/19 15:48:55) phend: yeah...
(11/19 15:49:05) Zardoz: Where have you been? We lost contact with you
(11/19 15:49:23) phend: who lost co... who are you?
(11/19 15:49:36) Zardoz: I am an explorer, name of Zardoz
(11/19 15:49:48 ) phend: okay
(11/19 15:49:51) phend: wow
(11/19 15:50:05) Zardoz: Do you remember, a long while ago, contacting Doc Greer?
(11/19 15:50:17) phend: Sorry, I'm confused. Are you with the DRC?
(11/19 15:50:34) Zardoz: No. Not exactly an approved explorer
Phil wanders some more, toward the fountain (I think).
(11/19 15:50:56) phend: I remember Greer, I spoke with him before I left.
(11/19 15:51:12) Zardoz: "Left"? Do you recall where you went?
(11/19 15:51:48 ) phend: I better talk to the DRC... maybe. I need to figure this out.
(11/19 15:52:12) phend: How can I get to Ae'gura?
(11/19 15:52:33) Zardoz: Not easy - do you know about the Nexus?
(11/19 15:52:57) phend: Yeah.
(11/19 15:53:04) Zardoz: I can get you there, through the Nexus
(11/19 15:53:32) Zardoz: But I don't know if any DRC are there now
(11/19 15:53:58 ) Zardoz: And we'll have to go a roundabout way
(11/19 15:54:02) phend: Okay, that'd be great... I'll have a better chance of finding them there.
(11/19 15:54:13) Zardoz: Okay, "follow" me
This may be a part we could cut out. I attempted to share my Relto book with him, but I could not get a hot spot when I put my cursor over him. We might consider cutting out the dialogue between 15:54:13 and 15:56:07.
(11/19 15:54:18 ) phend: okay
(11/19 15:54:28 ) From Victor Laxman in Victor Laxman's Nexus: did you say "Phil"?
(11/19 15:54:44) Zardoz: Hmm, having trouble getting this to work
(11/19 15:55:31) Zardoz: Phil, there is a new book, I'm trying to "share" it with you
(11/19 15:55:59) phend: okay, I feel funny
(11/19 15:56:07) Zardoz: But you don't seem to "be there"
(11/19 15:56:24) phend: The DRC used to keep a book here. Is it still there?
(11/19 15:56:28 ) Zardoz: Victor Laxman is talking to me - do you want him to come here?
Probably want to cut out this next line.
(11/19 15:57:05) To Victor Laxman in Victor Laxman's Nexus: Just one minute, Mr. Laxman
(11/19 15:57:09) phend: Victor?
(11/19 15:57:12) Zardoz: Yes
(11/19 15:57:30) phend: No, I'll find them. But thanks.
(11/19 15:57:39) Zardoz: Okay - good luck
Phil wanders, not sure where.
11/19 15:58:07) phend: wait
(11/19 15:58:14) Zardoz: Yes?
(11/19 15:58:35) phend: can you open the door again - I need some time
(11/19 15:58:51) Zardoz: Okay - but will you return?
(11/19 15:59:29) phend: Yeah, I think I need to. I'm just not... just need some time.
(11/19 15:59:35) Zardoz: Okay, follow me
We go back to the door.
(11/19 16:00:09) Zardoz: Goodbye - and good luck
I open the door, but Phil doesn’t go through (yet).
(11/19 16:00:11) phend: thanks
(11/19 16:00:25) phend: How did you get here. To D'ni.
(11/19 16:00:51) Zardoz: We've come with some help - Jeff Zandi
(11/19 16:01:09) Zardoz: The DRC isn't thrilled
(11/19 16:01:14) phend: Yeah, how many have come?
(11/19 16:01:27) Zardoz: Lots - I think in the low hundreds
(11/19 16:01:28 ) phend: They must learn.
(11/19 16:01:37) Zardoz: We've had help learning, too
(11/19 16:01:40) phend: Wow. So soon!
(11/19 16:02:31) phend: Did the DRC let them come?
(11/19 16:02:47) Zardoz: Let them - well, they're tolerating us, not thrilled to see so many
(11/19 16:03:21) phend: But the city... and the ages. They weren't even near ready? When did you come?
(11/19 16:03:30) phend: How did you know me?
(11/19 16:03:51) Zardoz: I knew you from Greer's report
(11/19 16:04:13) Zardoz: And we started coming a few days ago, altho some of us have been here longer
(11/19 16:05:01) phend: Okay, I'll be back... when I'm more ready. Will you help me again?
(11/19 16:05:14) Zardoz: Yes. Should I mention this to Laxman?
(11/19 16:05:27) phend: He'll know.
(11/19 16:05:38 ) phend: bye
(11/19 16:05:39) Zardoz: Okay. Good luck, and take care.
(11/19 16:05:44) phend: ...and thanks.
Phil goes through the door. The rest of the conversation is with Laxman. |

UPDATE:
Hopefully filming will commence as planned however I have run into some surface conflicts. Cycreim and Zardoz have been made aware. Anyone who planned on being there to watch.....be advised, the filming may take place anytime between 8:30 and midnight Eastern on Wednesday night. I wish I could be more specific but I can't. As I said, I hope to begin as close to the scheduled start time as I can. We shall see. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Quick questions for Zardoz:
Who told you go to go Eder Kemo? And which "instance" of Eder Kemo was it?
Enquiring minds want to know ;)
Also, on the topic of trimming the chat log... here is one vision I have for the part where Zardoz has some concerns. I've removed a few lines but left most of them, and removed undue emphasis on certain words.
(11/19 15:54:13) Zardoz: Okay, follow me
(11/19 15:54:18 ) phend: okay
This will require two "takes" to capture. On the first take, Zardoz offers the book to "Phil". The animation of extending the book only occurs after the receiver accepts, so "Phil" will link out on the first take. When "Phil" returns, we resume the filming. The edited result will be that Zardoz offers his Relto book to Phil, but Phil doesn't use it.
(11/19 15:55:31) Zardoz: Phil, there is a new book, I'm trying to share it with you
(11/19 15:55:59) phend: okay, I feel funny
Edit in Zardoz putting the relto book away, but Phil is, of course, still there.
(11/19 15:56:24) phend: The DRC used to keep a book here. Is it still there?
Editorial - Phil had to have been confused, or maybe this was before our time... but to my memory, there's never been a book in Kemo. There is one in Gira.
(11/19 15:56:28 ) Zardoz: Victor Laxman is talking to me - do you want him to come here?
Zardoz is shown tapping on his KI for a few seconds.
(11/19 15:57:09) phend: Victor?
Edit: Looking at the script now, jotting personal notes onto it...

I've taken a few minor liberties with the script and have posted it here for your consideration. Changes include moving the first half-screen scene with Laxman just a few lines later. Sometimes, conversations online occur slightly out of the linear order in which we'd normally speak things aloud.... so I feel that this reordering is true to the spirit of the situation. However, if people object to any reordering of lines, I understand completely and would withdraw my suggestion. Read it first though... I think you'll find that it flows a little more easily.
