I'd like to see a showing of hands for people who can be on The Great Tree shard sometime this weekend, and what times. I understand this excludes people who don't have Kagi keys... but it's really unavoidable.
Ideally, I need 4 to 5 other people all willing to be online around the same time, so that I can get certain shots in Gahreesen, the Neighborhood, and Ae'gura I ultimately will need a bunch more shots, but those are a few I've specifically choreographed out in my mind that require a "small crowd."
And everyone must wear a Santa hat. (That's why this has to be on the GT shard.)
Have I piqued anyone's interest? _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Ideally, Saturday morning; say, 7am pacific, 10am eastern.
However, I need more people so I will go for whatever time I can get enough people simultaneously.
I am also open to filming other people in single shots, though.
At the moment, I need to work out all the places I know of levers, buttons, etc. The idea for those is to film people - many different people - pushing as many of the switches as I can throughout Uru. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

/me will be there as long as it's not too early on Saturday morning
I'm not sure what timezone ghaelen is in, but if she's EDT then I might have a problem. Even noon her time would be 9:00AM for us left coasters and I don't function well that time in the morning on a Saturday Would Sunday afternoon work better for everyone?

I should add: Female participants are especially welcome in this project, because I'm probably going to include two songs rather than just one... and the second song has lyrics that translate to "Women working by day and late at night..." and for that song, it makes a lot of sense to show predominately female avatars. However, not wishing to discriminate against anyone, I will also include some male avatars as well.
Don't google that quote if you don't want part of the surprise ruined.
And:
If you figure out the project's theme, please don't spoil it for others.
And, I've not had to deal with this aspect of filmmaking before, but here's an obligatory notice:
Anyone who participates in this project is consenting to have their avatar appear in a music video that I'm producing. If you want to know the content of the video in advance before you participate, then ask and I will let you know by PM. Otherwise, I am asking that people trust that I will be using all footage in a responsible and respectful manner. Your avatar name will be included in the credits along with a still shot of your avatar so that each person is identified, unless you wish to remain anonymous. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I'm in Central Time Zone, and can meet until 2:30pm Saturday. I have a meeting at 3pm, but could come back after that in the evening as well. In fact, the evening (5pm on...?) might actually be the best, since Weldergeek can be there then, too. Better for Ashtar?
Marten, should we wear any particular type of clothes? Overalls? Will we get tools? _________________ What a wonderful thing it is to spend time with people who aren't obligated to be there, either. |

If you prefer to dress in "work clothes", that is fine. I figured most people would want to look 98% the same way they always do, for purposes of familiarity. (Let's admit: Our wardrobes are the easiest way for us to express ourselves in Uru. Faces don't have much distinction from one another.)
The only dress requirement is that you open your Relto closet and put on your Santa hat, and set it to a bright, cheerful color. Fire Hydrant Reds, Pine Greens, and Hawaiian Ocean Blues are probably best.
PS: I will be doing the bulk of filming Saturday morning and midday.
Eastern: 10am - 3pm
Pacific: 7am - Noon
I can arrange to film other people during weeknights in solo shots, but I can't make any promises; feel free to PM me if you're interested in trying to schedule a time.
Update: I have expanded invitations to anyone from UruObsession who can join the Great Tree shard. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I can't resist Marten, you can hit me if you want, but this sounds like a Slackers production. You haven't moved to the dark side have you? Of course, Weldergeek might have something to say about my comment as well, but I deserve it
Yikes! 7:00AM? On a Saturday? You are not asking much from this old Admin are you? All I can say is I'll try. If I'm not there at the start of the meeting I'm either still asleep or a zombie trying to wake up.
And if you need more female avatars for the production, I could always go in drag. But wow, you would owe me big time for that

Ashtar,
It's perfectly OK if you arrive later, e.g. 9am ... that is, provided that the Nexus on the GT shard is working again before then It is broken at the moment.
However, there is a lot of filming (even just filming small 10 second clips will add up to a lot of work) and I want to be accomodating to people's schedules as they are and aren't available.
And no, I have not gone over to the "dark side"; in fact, my disclaimer above is specifically inspired by the uproar over the Slackers' "Rocky Horror" spoof. People were very upset when their likenesses were used without their permission and in roles with which they took offense, and I don't blame them one bit. Those roles were, shall I say... less than flattering.
In this production, the Santa Hats serve to unify players with a common bit of dress code - that is, a uniform - and to give a nod to the origin of the songs that will be used for the music video.
Oh yes, one more thing: My KI number on The Great Tree shard is: 28618
Edit There was a message about a backup plan here before, but see Ashtar's update below. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Well I was probably working on it, that's why you didn't see me for the past 3 hours or so. The Nexus is working OK again, but do whatever you think is best.

Do you know what I never realized before I tried it? You can actually open the manhole cover in Teledahn from underneath, when it's unlocked! Sorry if you already know this, but I thought it was pretty dang cool. _________________ KI: 34353 |
