So the impossible happened. After hearing about all the fun I've had this past week, my girlfriend has finally become interested in what I've really been up to these past few years. She wants to see D'ni, and possibly all it has to offer.
My question is, what do you all think is the best way to go about it? Should I show her UU, with it's potential game-stopping problems (but with multiplayer and the cavern), or should I have her play Uru Prime (minus D'ni)? And from there? Has anyone else had success in introducing new players during UU time? |

Wow. That's tough. I have been very reluctant to show off a broken Uru. However, if you have two computers it would be awesome to solve the Ages together. I say go on UU. What the heck. Unless she's willing to wait for UruLive. That would be the real way to go. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Depends on what you want to show her. If you are going to show her the puzzles, etc. Go with Uru Prime or one of the Myst games. If you want to show her the community, go to D'mala. |

That patch xx weeks ago stabilized things a lot (although, of course, not perfectly)- no more funky doors and such. Although, on the flip side, load times are still rather abhorrent- that might turn new players off as much as anything else out there. _________________ The laws contrived by the Proud are their security, and their undoing. Is Teledahn still broken? That age caused me the most headaches. That big machine is always on the fritz. |

I believe Teledahn is fixed. But, even if it's not I know there's a workaround. But, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Make sure you let us know when you get to it. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

UU is pretty okay right now... The nice thing is that you can keep exploration with others fairly small. So if you just want to have the two of you running through Ages then that's possible. _________________ KI: 34353 |

That's all well and good, but what I want to know is:
When are you guys moving to Seattle? _________________ #Brian Fioca

Seattle is costly. Move to Portland! It's close to Seattle, but still affordable.
Here's a job search for artist in Portland. Uh... ignore that first entry. "Sandwich artists," indeed. http://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=artist&l=portland%2C+or _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Woah Daed!!! That's a huge step! I was going to suggest just having her play Uru Prime, but I kinda like Prof's idea of playing Uru together on UU. If it's frustratingly unstable, though, I'd suggest scrapping UU and playing Uru Prime.
