D'ni League of Activities Officially Unveiled
Organization built on hard work and home grown talent announces new direction in D'ni
AE'GURA, D'NI - January 19, 2004 - A small band of explorers today
introduced the D'ni world to the D'ni League of Activities (D'LA). The D'LA
is an explorer run organization founded with the express purpose of
entertaining, amusing, occupying and otherwise enriching the downtime that
explorers in D'ni spend away from exploring. Founded by the League Activity
Directors Maztec, K'wartha and Graham the D'ni League of Activities will
serve as a central point of information for in-cavern sports, games and art.
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" proclaims the website, "The
D'LA is an explorer-organized project dedicated to furthering an environment
of fun and harmonious co-operation in D'ni. Competition and co-operation
collide in player run events from sports to games to theatre." The new
website, found at http://www.dniactivities.org , will feature games, schedules of events
and forums for explorer interaction.
The D'LA is a non-profit organization not currently affiliated with the D'ni
Restoration Council.

Kind of like the USO. This sounds like a great idea...very healthy. I'll be sure to check it out. I am particularly interested in the theatrical aspect and would like to hear more about it. See you at D'LA! |

Thanks!
The Theater projects are definitely going to be interesting. We have a few ideas in this area and the more people interested the better. And of course we're already looking for more coordinators!

For those interested:
CAPTURE THE CONES!
Yes, we rumoured it, and now we've planned it! This weekend there will not be one, not even two events of Capture the Cones. Sorry to break it to you guys.
Instead, we've decided to have THREE Capture the Cones events! Yes, you read that right. Come to one, Come to two, or even Come to them all.
So, for those of you out there who have busy schedules and are a touch impatient, here's the schedule:
Saturday, 3:00PM EST, Achenar shard, D'LA Hood (2004-01-24 @ 2000GMT, 3:00PM EST, 2:00PM CST, 12:00PM PST) -- Host: Maztec
Saturday, 9:00PM EST, Katran shard, D'LA Hood (2004-01-24 @ 0200GMT, 9:00PM EST, 8:00PM CST, 6:00PM PST) -- Host: Kawartha
Sunday, 4:30PM EST, Atrus shard, D'LA Hood (2004-01-25 @ 2130GMT, 4:30PM EST, 3:30PM CST, 1:30PM PST) -- Host's: Graham and Capt_Kneebone
Now that that is out of the way. What is Capture the Cones? Well, if you haven't seen our events page then you probably haven't read this:
The bane and bounty of every explorer's existence - the cones MUST be captured! Two teams face off to capture and keep the most cones in their goal for the longest period of time - the only rules are... THERE ARE NO RULES! (well, no eye gouging or fish-hooking).
Despite what it says there, we do have some formalized rules for Capture the Cones. I recommend you go over to the D'LA events page and review the rules as laid out there.
If you would like to discuss this upcoming event, I recommend visiting this thread in the D'LA Forums on the D'LA Website.
See you all there and may the best cone herder win!
