I didn't see those pictures till after the news broke, but if I had I think I would have been a lot more suspicious a lot earlier.
They all look so posed and studio-y. I don't know how to describe it in proper photographic terms, but none of them look like someone just took a snapshot of her, for example, on vacation or around the house. It's possible someone might have those everyday pictures and still only use the professional ones, but it would strike me as really weird that none of them were just candids.
I doubt it's someone he knows. I think it's more likely he just pulled them off the website of some aspiring model or actress. (For one thing she looks really, really familiar. I think I may have seen these shots before. I can't remember where, unfortunately...)
