Brian's never been interested in anything Uru not directly run by Cyan. That's just his way. At least he's been consistent by it.
That doesn't mean that other members of the Great Tree, such as myself, aren't greatly appreciative of your shard. I know you've spent a lot of your own money and effort in running it. It has been an invaluable resource to me personally, and it will certainly be necessary for filming portions of the Prologue video project, so I do believe that Brian is being a little short-sighted in his comment. *cough cough* |
I appreciated your comments Marten Although I realize the individual shards will not play as big of a role in the Uru Live future, we have served our purpose. And that was to keep interest in Uru going until someone came along and recognized its potential, like GameTap. So it's been a lot of fun over the last couple of years, and a great learning experience for me. I've always wanted to learn Linux, starting up my own web server, forums, etc. So although it's cost me a pretty penny to run the server, I don't regret it, not one bit.
And I'm glad it was just a misunderstanding. That's why I wanted to wait a bit before going off half-cocked on a reply: "Did Brian really mean what it looked like, or was there another message in there that I'm not seeing?" Sometimes we all post something that can easily be taken the wrong way.

I don't know what you have against otters, Ashtar, but I for one am highly offended.
Oh, wait, you're talking about something else. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

That's awesome, Ashtar. I, too, have learned a lot about Linux, php, web servers, and the like just from having this forum. Some people say that getting involved in things like URU is a waste of time, but it never is. I've learned so much by being here. In fact, my life would be completely different if it weren't for URU, so thanks for helping it stay alive! _________________ #Brian Fioca

Actually, since we're on the subject...I would also like to throw my thanks your way for the GT shard. And to a'moaca', too, for her able-bodied work on said shard. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |
