|

I can't believe after all this time it's still possible to stumble upon a picture...taken in the Cavern!!...that I haven't seen yet. But, here it is in all its glory. I found it while doing picture research for Episode Zero. It's called the Testing Room and it's located in Ae'gura. It can only be reached by a linking panel in Er'cana. One would assume that we shall stumble upon it some day.

Yeah, I just forgot is all. Daedalus pointed it out to me last night. It ain't easy growing old. Gears are slipping. Though judging by some of the reactions here, I'm not the only one. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Ok, well, that would explain my ignorance, because I never actually played PotS except for a little bit at Cyan before it was released. I got the complete chronicles guide, and caved in and read it all the way through because it was so interesting, so I never actually played the game, even though I own it. _________________ ~Moiety Jean

After I got my KI calibrated when I played Uru CC, I went around to all locations to see if they had coordinates. Much to my surprise I found out that the pellet test chamber is somewhere in Ae'gura. I have the coordinates somewhere in my reams of notes.
I've been playing PotS again... and today I found something new. If you have the ball at the lower end of the track, hop off the bridge to the track above the ball, and walk up, you'll find something interesting. Sure was a surprise to me. |

Talk about a post that leaves you hanging!
Okay, Chaos, spill it. We want coordinates and we want to know what you found. Don't be shy. Share. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

OK...
/me goes off to dig through notes... At one time I was thinking of doing a map based on KI coordinates, but the project stalled. Then I started playing Until Uru, and KI coordinates don't work very well in there.
From my notes: "Path of Shell pellet test: 1913.1562.164" So... the pellet test site is way out on the edge of the cavern someplace, farther away than the neighborhoods we can get into, and not too far off the Great Zero line... and very high. I think. I may have mistranscribed the elevation number, but as water level in the Cavern is at about -93 spans, I can't imagine a place at -164... and, if you look out from the pellet test site you can see the edge of the Cavern.
Other interesting coordinates:
Atrus' desk in Kveer: 1474.811.-77
Bevin telescope: 60264.997.-71
Kirel telescope: 60038.1034.-102 (hard to believe the elevation)
Nexus: 59513.6.-1 (pretty much right under the Great Zero)
Guild Hall: 18270.22.-48 (Link-in point)
Now, about the ball and track in the Guild Hall: I was just sort of bumbling around, enjoying the music out there by the Great Tree, and wandered back into the Guild Hall. I'd ended up in the Tree by mistake, using a shell-print in a book. As I was walking across the bridge I realized I could just jump off. When I first played the game I didn't do any jumping because I didn't think I could. Too far down. Gira cured me of that, pretty much. So, rather than walk all the way down the ramp, I jumped off the bridge... and then saw that the ball was at the low end. Can't get over it. Either Relto out or walk up to the other end. I did the latter, and found out that the thing in that timer room that looks like a door... really is one. |

Yep
I actually had filmed a scene of that door opening for use in Gorahyantee, but it ended up on the cutting room floor.
Lots of video ended up that way. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

*explains*
In the Watcher's Sanctuary, if you solve the puzzle, climb up the ladder, walk along the ledge, then drop down into the space where the Watcher's ball rolls, you could be "stuck" behind the ball with no escape... so travel up the same path that you'd roll the ball, and at the end there is a hole. Drop through the hole and there is a short passage back to a door, which opens and drops you back in the room with the light device and the ladder. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.
