I agree with this announcement.
The Great Tree is... well... great. We go to Mysterium, we explore the Cavern, we stay up much too late on MSN discussing all of my psychological hang-ups.
I lurve you all!

Staying up "much too late" (on MSN in particular) is also a Great Tree specialty. |

I suppose I should have expected with all you Seattlites that you'd be using MSN, the one chat system I don't use.
I'm on Yahoo!, AIM, and ICQ. And although MSN and Y! are talking to each other now, I can't participate just yet because I'm using the third-party chat client Trillian and it doesn't support the crossover yet. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I downloaded Windows Live yesterday. It doesn't seem overly different. Looks nicer. And I've used it as a telephone, that was cool. Called from my PC to a landline phone. It was easy to set up and there's no phone bill crap. You open a Webcall account with Verizon and buy a block of time (I spent $5.00). Average usage breaks it down to 1.9 cents a minute. Something like that. Oh, and I threw my old vid cam on there as well. Maybe I'll stay up and chat some night after twelve...although if you left coasters are yakking it up at midight your time that's three a.m. my time. Hmmmm......It better be a damn special occasion. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Skype lets you call out to a landline to anywhere in the US (and Canada?) for free for the rest of the year. Just have do dial +1 then area code then number... I use it to call my parents when I feel like not using up minutes on my work cell phone.
Edit: Oh, and to get this back on topic.

Can a relative stranger wander into this thread and say that he thinks the GTers are one hoopy bunch of froods who really know where their towels are? |

Well, the half hour time zone is one fairly good clue.
(I wouldn't want to just be straight-forward, now would I? )

I got a Windows Live account. It's in my profile now.
Edit GameTap won't let people change their primary ID... if I'd known that in advance, I might have sat and thought a little longer before choosing my ID.
I created a sub-account, gave it full privs, and will be playing under that. That ID is "MartenTW". _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Well our unofficial is "Don't Panic (Demonstrate!)" Or at least it would be if it was... which is isn't. Mostly because I made it up all of five seconds ago.
Ah gods bless MSN, depriving people of sleep. I like Live if only because it lets you have a conversation while you are Appearing Offline |

Yes. Yes, you can.
And let me just say it's always nice to see you here, Deius.
