|

(As copied from a post in the "Right now" thread.)
Right now my vote is for leaves as the rank icon. I also think we should up the required post count for each star. It should be in exponential increments:
1 to 25 posts = 1 star/leaf
26 to 100 = 2 stars/leaves
101 to 250 = 3 stars/leaves
251 to 500 = 4 stars/leaves
501+ = 5 stars/leaves
I think there is even more room for higher post counts in there; I feel like I am being a bit lenient in that example.
Any other ideas or suggestions?
Edit: *DIES* I know how to spell!!!!!! *changes "leafs" to "leaves"* It must've been a late night last night. _________________

I've heard a lot of good suggestions -- acorns, leaves, all that jazz.
I was also thinking of progressional ranking. For instance, when you start here you're a seed, then you become a seedling, and so on. The bar might fill out horizontally into some sort of vine or plant. |

aww, c'mon... I liked the acorn idea. The more you post, the nuttier you get!

The rank icons and the rank titles are related, that's why the Great Tree Members (and officers, and unique titled people) have 5 stars... That's just a side effect of the board software. The progressive rank stuff (posting based) will be for non-members, but we can have progressive member rank titles (based on member standing) as well. Member has a small tree, officer has a regular tree, and I'd have a big honking monstrosity (j/k). _________________ #Brian Fioca

I'm glad we have some "artsy-fartsy" people around to think of great ideas like this one. _________________

Oh dear. It's not the size of the tree, it's the number of seeds...

Hey now, we can all be a little artsy-fartsy sometimes.
