The Great Tree

Hi.

When I heard that the launch date for New Live was to be February 9, I immediately got the idea to hold a party. Now it has been pushed to Feb 15 but I think the idea is still good. So, I'm proposing a "Return to Tokotah Alley" party for February 9.

The idea is to celebrate the near-miracle of having the Cavern come back to life. I'd really like to have some Great Tree people there to tell their stories, or something like that. It's a kind of forming idea at the moment.

What I have now is to start at 8PM Eastern (5PM Pacific) and have people share their stories in the Tokotah Alley. If the City fills up we can move or overflow to the Up On the Roof! 'hood... or maybe even Great Tree 'hood if you'd prefer that.

The plan is loose. Is anyone here interested, and what other ideas would you like to add?

The D'ni Jazz club is already hosting an all-day party in their neighborhood. The plan around here is to jump in there. Smile

Wait. Chaos, were you still planning on holding the party on the 9th? Or move to the 15th? Because as MJ says, there are other parties already planned on launch day. Not only D'ni Jazz Club, but also Uru Obsession, and I'm sure other groups will be hosting their own parties too.

But I haven't heard of any pre-Launch parties yet Wink

Pre-launch party is a great idea as Marten has winkingly suggested.

But, if you still plan on holding it on the 15th, I will definitely stop by and say hello at least. My Thursday evening will be completely devoted to the Cavern.

I realize this is jumping the gun, but I still want to do it on the 9th. I like the symmetry of celebrating this day when three years ago Live got turned off, and one year ago we were wondering if all the shards would be shut down. Now we're coming back.

I know there are lots of parties planned for the 15th. I don't know how many people will come to the "Return to Tokotah" party but some have expressed interest.

I know the actual turn-off time was around noon, but I'll be at work.

I remember original turnoff time being at night, not at noon...

Maybe my despondency just made it feel like night.

I thought it was at night, too. 'Cause I remember getting the boot and I couldn't be in the Cavern during the day.

It was at night. I was forced to go to bed and I didn't want to.. I wanted to stay up until the end. Though it was only night time on my side of the planet..

I saw Prof in the Save Last Nights video bit that I was editing, and I'm pretty sure Saxy was in that bit, too. Maica Lakem is in the full video.

Man that was a sad day.

I'm glad the new launch is February 15 and not April 15, because I don't think I could endure an April Fools joke about Uru closing again.

I'm in the Last Nights video too! I'm in a deep blue fleece jacket, brown hair in a ponytail, and brown pants (sometimes maintainer pants).
