Eleri, will you take point in tracking down as many of these people as possible to determine their interest in recreating their "role" in Prologue? If they are, we will add their names to the list above. If they are not, ask them if we can substitute an actor in their place. If we can't find them actors will take their place by default.
Our primary concern in this phase is to find the bodies. When any one scene has a full complement of performers we will begin the scheduling process. Eleri, feel free to create a search staff of your very own. I will help wehn I can and post or PM my result to you. And if anyone can help Eleri track down some of these people, it would really speed things up.
Thank you. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

How I've handled this in the past... is in three steps.
The first step was contacting all of the explorers I could find who participated originally to get their schedules. I always let them know that I could not guarantee filming at a time that was convenient to them but that getting their schedule was necessary to try.
The second step was to pick a time where most of those explorers could participate. I then sent out notifications to the explorers who I expected to participate, letting them know when they'd be expected.
The third step was a recruitment drive to fill remaining positions. This was very general and I didn't try to cast anyone into a specific role - I let people know to show up, I didn't promise them a position in the film, but they were welcome to watch from the sidelines if nothing else.
The one problem I'd consistently had with step 3 was not checking the calendar and making sure I wasn't stepping on someone else's party, like the Halloween trick-or-treat hunt that, for some reason I could not quite understand, wasn't on Halloween.
Since I am stepping back from this responsibility, I'm not dictating instructions above; I just wanted to offer up my methodology for the benefit of the person assuming this job _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Thanks, Marten. I'm sure the Recruitment "team" appreciates it. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

I sent PMs or emails to:
Jensen
Tweek
The World
Quintin
Dusante
Duskrin D'tahree
German Shepherd
Thanakar
I couldn't find ways to contact:
Snatcher42
Theora
Bonz
Akiva
Mystlander has also been putting out the call for general actors on the 3-4th, right? I'll send out an announcement for that, looking for 10 actors, just in case we don't hear from these guys. _________________

Sounds good! As soon as we get a general time that would be best for the majority of self-players, we can establish filming times. 1 hour filming windows seem to work the best, though I think we'll need to run more to 1.5 per session for this episode. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Will you guys PM brian too if you need him? He doesn't keep up with the Documentary forums very well. I could use a date reminder too. _________________ ~Moiety Jean

I might be able to work with Dus' schedule, just a little. But he sure makes it difficult. Please let me know when he IS available. Otherwise... it'll continue to be someone acting his position.
I'll pester Tweek on CyanChat. Pesterpester.
I expect Duskrin will still be unavailable, but things could have changed. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Eleri,
Hopefully you've gotten some responses back by now. Are we on for this weekend? _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I have only gotten one positive response so far, although honestly I haven't been as on top of it as I should be. I'll poke at people tomorrow, I promise.
How does starting at Noon on Saturday sound for people? _________________

Depends on which timezone you're referring noon into. _________________ Seeking a journey away from Halvor's "Junee's Feet Obsession" |

I think announcing the filming date 24 hours before filming is cutting it a bit late, don't you? I am concerned that we won't have the people we'll need to film because most people will already have plans for the day.
And next weekend is not as good for me; I will be busy the evening of the 10th, probably gone 4pm Pacific and later or such. And there is a Bahroglyph Tour that weekend. And a D'ni Coctail Party.
Let me know when the best time to film for the 1 person is, and I will pick times that are good for me, and then let's get some announcements sent out. (I would have preferred that we'd have gotten that much done by yesterday.)
Events we must negotiate around this weekend: Cavern Choir Concert at 3PM EST (Noon Pacific) on Sunday March 4.
I haven't checked the GoG calendar to see if there are any other items. WHY they don't put a link to the calendar on their front page is beyond me; I'll have to hunt for it. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

It is cutting it close, and that's my bad. *grovel* This has been the Weekk from Hell, literally. I have gotten word back that Tweek, GS and possibly Thanakar are available. GS can can get a hold of TheWorld, too.
I was thinking noon pacific on Saturday.
Sending this email out later today to the people who responded:
Thanks for helping with The Great Tree Prologue Documentaries!
Filming on Episode 4 begins this Saturday 3/3/07 at Noon Pacific (1pm Cavern Time) In the Great Tree Bevin.
Episode 4 deals with explorer contact with Phil Henderson following his return to D'ni, and the explorer's reaction to Phil's odd behaviour
I can post something similar to get 'extras', or send it to the people Mystlander had lined up. _________________
