I've started re-doing the journey, re-installing Uru and starting from the beginning. Noticing a couple of things already that I'd didn't spot the first time around. Two drawings in the pipe/sewer thing that you walk through etched into it

I noticed those drawing but never really paid them any heed. I was always rather busy at the time. _________________

I saw the top one, but never noticed the bottom. Interesting... _________________ Jaharen

The bottom one is right to the end of the pipe (or as far as you can walk), just walk straight past the gap that leads to the stairs and you should see it on your right hand side. |

The first clearly shows two people shackled together and under the control of a D'ni individual (possibly in a maintainer suit).
As for the second image... I have no idea what it represents. Any ideas? _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Actually, if you look at the third person, he's shackled with his arms above his head. _________________

Yes, you're right. It's obvious now that you've pointed it out. I didn't know what it was. Looked like a head in a bucket on legs. But, it's obviously raised arms shackled together and...hung up? There's a rope or chain going up from the shackles. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Yes I thought as well that the third person was shackled, like the chains you see in the prison hanging from the ceilings.
Sorry it's not a brilliant picture, should have brightened it a bit more. |

well, we heard strange things were going on in teledahn, something about prisoners, and that the mushroom-harvesting-thing was just a coverup for something else? I forgot what it was exactly.
Those drawings must depict some of the prisoners, You can see the chains on the floor in Teledahn if you go there, in a certain room. _________________

Wasn't the Guild Master of the Guild of Caterer's running a slave trade from Teledahn? Can't remember now. Will have to read Sharper's journal again. |

I stand corrected... so the third person is also shackled.
The Guild Master of the Guild of Caterers received Teledahn as a gift. Later, the Guild of Caterers inherited the age from him.
The Guild of Caterers (starting with the Guild Master) caused environmental damage to Teledahn, through a combination of industrialization and the wall erected to keep out the Shroomie creatures.
The book was thrown away when the age was declared to be"ruined." From that point forward, the history of the book is unknown, but it resurfaced later; to paraphrase, "the book had not been destroyed as the Guild had intended." The later owner of the book put the age back into production, but the spore harvesting was actually a red herring meant to cover the owner's real business: slave trade. Indeed, the disrepair of some of the equipment appears to be deliberate as slaves were channeled through a broken pipe under the equipment. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I've seen both these images in Uru. The first is pretty easy to decipher, but the second one has puzzled me. This being Cyan, I wonder if we will someday hear more about this symbol.

Taken from the DRC Ages list:
Quote: | Teledahn
History
In the year 8990, Grand Master Mararon of the Guild of Writers wrote Teledahn for his good friend and fellow member of the High Council Lord Hinahsh. Lord Hinahsh was also Grand Master of the Guild of Caterers. The age was given to the Lord as a 250th birthday present and was a beautiful age covered with giant mushrooms that grew out of a warm water that covered most of the surface of the Age.
Synopsis
Though Hinahsh spent a relatively small amount of time on the Age, he found enough time to study and experiment with the mushrooms and the numerous spores that they produced. Being that he was a gifted cook, Hinahsh began to develop a unique bread recipe from the spores that went out to become a delicacy amongst the elite of D'ni
After his death in 9005, the Age was given to the Guild of Caterers. While the Guild ran a sucessful operation there for a number of years, eventually the machinery and industrlialization was too much for the environment. The Age was thrown away, cosidered "used up".
Rumor has it that it was found again by a man named Manesmo while rummaging through a trash heap.
Records indicate an investigation was started in 9396 concerning the storage and trading of slaves, with the harvesting of spores as a front for the operation. The Guild of Maintainers kept the investigation quiet so as to not give Manesmo time to cover his operation but he always seemed to be one step ahead of them. It would seem the truth was never uncovered before the Fall of D'ni.
