Any chance that the mystic link that appears in Negilahn would correspond to the "18" mark on the clock?

Considering how both the time instructions showed up the same time the Negilahn link did... can't help but wonder.

Anyone gonna be up at 2:25 Cavern time to see?

Ok. Going to have to make some carefully phrased comments here...

When you enter the neighborhood, the clock should be set appropriately based upon Cavern time. If you futz with your watch, the clock will track with your watch... but linking out and back in will reset the clock to the correct time (off of Cavern time).

Everyone ought to be seeing the same time on the clocks regardless of explorer time zone. I've heard this isn't reliable, so there may be some additional factors.

But I know that right now, the clock says "12". If I change my watch to say "1:30AM", the clock goes nuts. But if I link out and back in, the clock says "12" again.

(So don't expect to foil Yeesha by changing your watch. That's all I'm saying.)

I believe it has to do with Negilahn pod numbers and the timing of the portals...

Did I have to put spoiler tags around that? :ermm: *is nervous coming off the UO boards*

Update...

Note 1: BrettM has determined that the cavern clocks are running fast. Perhaps in order to encourage Laxman to meet his deadlines, Cate has set them roughly 23 minutes ahead of schedule.

Note 2: There is also a special fudge factor of 28 minutes. Don't ask me why.

Note 3: Highly Useful: Time Math Calculator @ http://www.csgnetwork.com/timeconv.html

Note 4 and OOC: If you are running Uru full screen, and you use Alt-Tab, you will mess up the clock. To fix it, you must QUIT completely (logout to the main menu does not fix the problem).

Observed time is when a number is centered on the clock.
Adjusted time is 51 minutes later.
All times are in Cavern Time.

Code:
     --Observed---  ---Adjust----
11 @ 00:11 March 5  01:02 March 5
12 @ 01:23 March 5  02:14 March 5
13 @ 02:36 March 5  03:27 March 5
14 @ 03:48 March 5  04:39 March 5
15 @ 05:01 March 5  05:52 March 5
16 @ 06:13 March 5  07:04 March 5
17 @ 07:26 March 5  08:17 March 5
18 @ 08:38 March 5  09:29 March 5
19 @ 09:51 March 5  10:42 March 5

... and so forth ...

If you want to find out when the next time will occur for any of the above hours (I'm just sayin', hypothetically), you'd take the time and add 30 hours and 14 minutes using the Time Math Calculator.

Spoiler:

Question: Subtract Gehn's favorite number from 18. What do you get?

Answer: The number of D'ni pahrtahvotee in a Negilahn day/night cycle.
