Regarding "about... in a way", I'll PM Brian and ask him to answer what he meant.
Regarding "a strong term": To humor someone is to pretend to understand or accept what that person is saying, but not really agree. Duskrin is saying that "humor him" is an impolite choice of words; the intensity of the words' meaning is too strong.
I like the ideas for the additional sound effects. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Sorry, Bri and I are on a trip again.
Brian meant "about" as in "around." He meant that Phil was in the cavern, sort of. (Referring to his strange behavior and disappearing.) _________________ ~Moiety Jean

Two translations done, two to go.
Someone had questions about two lines in the script. I'll repeat my answers here:
Quote: | Mr. Douglas Sharper, a man whose name would continue to pop up in conversation over that weekend |
"over that weekend" means during the weekend.
Quote: | Brian, are you checking on Douglas? |
By "checking on" the writer meant "monitoring" or "tracking progress", but not for correctness or control. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Help !
Sorry, I have a question about a line in the script :
Quote: | but with all the silence and delays, and delays about silence |
What do you really mean by "delays about silence" ? _________________ Le bonheur fuit celui qui le cherche |

I must say that I didn't understand that line either, but I've just translated it as it is... Though it would be nice to know what was actually meant with the "delays about silence". |

My guess is that Brian accidentally reversed his words and meant "silence about delays."
silence: the DRC withheld information from explorers
delays: schedules slipped
silence about delays: the DRC did not inform explorers when the schedules slipped
If you can, translate with the error still in place. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Just so that this is public knowledge:
I spoke with Cycreim about whether we should correct the reversed phrase. We decided to leave the words as they originally appeared, even though the words are confusing. When the event actually happened, that is what Brian actually said.
If we change the words, we could be accused of revising history, of covering up mistakes, of hiding the truth...
... all the things we accused the DRC of doing. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Quote: | ...but with all the silence and delays, and delays about silence... |
I think it's easy to leave it like that... I would translate it similar this way:
...but with all the silence and delays, and the loss of time by the silence...
in German for Tiella and Erik:
"...aber mit all der Verschwiegenheit (dem Stillschweigen) und den Verzögerungen,
und dem Zeitverlust durch die Verschwiegenheit (das Stillschweigen)..."
...something like that makes sense... |

Yes, but as Marten said, we should just leave it confusing. So I think it's better to translate it literally, even if it doesn't make sense, because it doesn't even make sense in English. |

Exactly.
Three translations are in. Just waiting on the last one now. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Tiella had many questions about the episode... I've asked permission to post her questions and my answers here. That might influence a few more changes in the translations. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.
