Right now hope Jana feels better soon!
Right now an interesting short essay http://www.eblong.com/zarf/uru/rj/essay-communication.html the link to the thread at MOUL forums which spawned it at the top. Cycreim has made soom excellent points about the story and TGT in it recently. It all seems to be mirroring what a few of us were talking about (again) in the neighbourhood the other night. |

Quote: | Is this new? Of course not; we were here a year ago, when MOUL had just opened up, before the February 2007 "launch date". And some players were saying "this sucks, it's buggy, nothing new is going on"; others were insisting that any minute now the story would take off like fireworks. |
I belonged to that last group initially, but now I've learned to adjust my expectations.
Something that was really frustrating me before the episodes: we didn't get enough KI mails and we got them inconsequently. For example, we got two KI mails for the release of Delin, but none for all the other Age releases such as Tsogal and the pods. It really shouldn't take that long to write a KI mail.
When the episodes started, we were suddenly getting KI mails describing everything that was happened. Even a simple addition as the KI light got a KI mail. KI mails also contained short summaries of what happened, this was especially well executed during Scars.
It's clear that with the change to episodes, there was an increase in KI mails. Was it easier to send KI mails during episodes than during the time that there were no episodes? Of course not! Somehow the episodes motivated or reminded Cyan to write some more KI mails. Before the episodes, they were just neglected. For me, this clearly illustrates Cyan's communication problems. |

Right now I'm in Uru for the next hour or so if anyone is around.
Ah well no-one was, no biggie. Would have just ended up staying up too late anyway.
Its funny when I walk around K'veer these days. Its so full of 'memories' (odd how I feel I need to quotation mark that) I remember seeing Yeesha there in person, talking with Anna Cat afterwards, spending time with Erik and Jana and Cycreim before, chasing Bahro and worshiping Ri'Neref, I remember goign to Riven with my sister and finishing Myst with my best friend. It is somehow more or a nexus than the Nexus heh. Tonight there is noone there though, even in the public instance.
We need to make Uru work. We really do. |

Rigth now I can't even remember the last time I was in the Cavern, and I'm ashamed to say I haven't even made it to K'Veer yet. I need to do that, and soon.
Course, right now I'm in Nashville, Tennessee, and have been all week. I'm getting incredibly fat off this southern down-home cooking. I also burst out laughing everytime someone starts to talk cuz they sound so funny... _________________

First of all thanks for your nice thoughts and words, my friends...
I'm feeling much better now, and I am on the road to recovery...
Puhhh, that was really Something...lol...
Right now your stay in the cavern, Dan, sounds sooo lonely and a bit
weird, almost creepy... like a walk through an abandoned, deserted
place... like in a film with flashbacks of distant echoing and fading sounds
and blurring pictures and scenes...
And right now by reading the forums it feels like the situation somehow
comes to a head slowly slowly... like described in this quote from your
above mentioned essay, Dan
Quote: | I recognize that Cyan is in an impossible position when it comes to communication. Any hint they drop
is taken as a promise, and then amplified by a factor of six. Then we players look at whatever they
didn't hint, and assume it's an admission of blatant failure. We construct elaborate guesses based on
the slightest turn of phrase in a bug report response.
I could blame us for this dynamic... |
No, absolutely not at all... cause...
Quote: | ...and I could blame Cyan -- they created an information vacuum, and we try to fill it up... |
Now, please no blame for Cyan, but they're the more or less innocent
initiators of the current state...
I don't mean that all in a dramatic way, more as a fact, by looking at
all the arising threads every day... and now the idea of spamming
GameTap... though I don't know exactly, if this is really spam, cause the
request thread is there to tell them, what we want to see, maybe it's
really a good idea... but... I dunno... right now...
Right now, by reading your post meanwhile, Rils, I'm glad to see,
that you have a great time in Nashville, Tennessee... See you soon in
the cavern... and don't worry about K'veer, it won't disappear... |

Awesome! Right now, I've just added my voice as well.
I think no one dares to suggest a game other than MOUL now. |

I didn't think there were enough requests for MOUL on there so I added one. _________________ ~Moiety Jean

::double post::
Right now I just jumped on that bandwagon, too...
Yeah, couldn't resist anymore, though I'm not really for
forcing something, but it's absolutely a justified claim...

I believe that too, and I also agree with Eleri in asking "Just show up" |

Right now, quite some developments at the GameTap forums to say the least. The explorers have been unleashed and they are hungry!
I hope it will have a positive effect, although I think it's a shame that some people *coughveraluncough* have started working off their frustrations on other GameTap customers. I hope that all the discussions can stay civilised and polite, and that people leave the juvenile cries ("Look at me, I'm a poor international that is paying double subscriptions because I can't make sub-accounts!" Well, then you should look a bit more closely at your profile page, because you can make sub-accounts...) out. |

Right now, thanks janaba, my b-day was awesome! Even got to have sushi with Brian and Jean the other day.
Yes, there was scheming involved. Perhaps even plotting. Strategery. |
