|

I don't know if this is happening to anyone else but on more than one occasion I've lost rather lengthy posts due to what appears to be a time-out factor. I just wrote a nice long post and when I tried to preview it, it asked for my log-in info. Gone. And unrecoverable.
Can we turn up the time limit somewhat? I can write in Word and copy and paste but I'd rather not. Or let me know if this is unique to me and writing fom work maybe. IDK. Thanks. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

It hasn't happened to me in a while. But when it did it was certainly infuriating. |

Oh, Prof Askew, this is sooo annoying, I know that, though that didn't happen
to me on this forums here, but somewhere else, especially on the german
forums and I don't remember where else... so, if I'm writing a lengthy post,
I generally copy the whole text to the clipboard before previewing or submitting
it ever since... |

I've sometimes been lucky and found I can retrieve lost poasts by hitting the back arrow. Other times, great sadness, despair, and bitter moaning.

Login cookies are already set not to expire, so... not sure why they are. I just now changed the session expiry from 1 hour to 30 days, so maybe that will fix it. _________________ #Brian Fioca

Thanks, Brian! Of course, testing it will be difficult because I will probably write my longer posts in NotePad first. lol

Right now,
I am eagerly awaiting the rewrite of the long poast we were deprived of by the Professor's untimely timeout. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

That's so strange that that was happening to you guys. I never get logged out anymore since the forum "no longer crashes." Maybe it's because I have the option checked to keep me logged in until I sign out? _________________ ~Moiety Jean

That could possibly be it, Jean. It's only happened to me during the day from work when I don't check that box. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |
