OK. There are a lot of holes in this, but I'm starting to fill it in, bit by bit. What would set this video apart from the others, if made, is that it falls more OOC, and references another game; I'm choosing Guild Wars for now because of Lord Chaos' posts about it, although any other MMO could fit really. I could also do scenes from 4 different games.

There is a lot of space in this video idea for images of various group gatherings. Most of the long sections of "..." are those sorts of spots.

For the time being I'm keeping the song selection to myself. I will reveal one clue: The artist of the song has been connected to the Myst series, making this song particularly appropriate.

I've fleshed out the outline above a lot more while I'm feeling insomnia this night, so if you're interested in this process, take another look. There are just a few scenes left to figure out, I think; projects like this evolve of course, so there may be further substitutions.

I would try and guess but I don't know much of Peter Gabrials back catalogue?

If it's a Peter Gabriel song I don't think it's any that I have. Though "I grieve" would be a nice depressing song to use about Uru's closure.

I will clarify: I would like the image to convey that we will not place demands upon Cyan, that we do not ask much of them, when we know they are in a trying time.

Jalak and Minkata are Ages that Cyan built pretty rapidly, small quick-to-produce places made with less work than grand ages like Teledahn or Ahnonay, right?

The image could also be something out-of-game.

How about a picture of a Minkata soccer game with a big group? Get everybody posed to show a lot of structure (example: Anyone observing is lined neatly up, defining a rectangular area where a few others are kicking the ball around... maybe a few explorers stand in as goal posts). .. this could take a fair number of people, though.

Or maybe a picture from Mysterium or Urupalooza of some of us playing tabletop Ahyoheek?

So here is a late reply from me.

What about a picture of explorers cheering around the Christmas tree if that's possible? Or a cheering explorer next to a pumpkin.

Or something that doesn't need any editing: some explorers cheering next to one of the sparks.

And I have the feeling that Marten found another song by the actress that also sings the lament in the gallery and the music in the alternate vault.

I went back into the Cavern tonight under a pseudonym... many thanks to Tai'lahr for giving me access.

It was difficult to be there. It hurts.

I spent some time running around preparing for the filming I need to do. But I also am going to need some assistance.

I've grabbed some preliminary images of things from the web, such as the Myst Online and the original Uru: Ages Beyond Myst logos. Finding good high quality copies isn't very easy. I need a Photoshop guru to clean these up and make them look good. Same thing for the Ubisoft and GameTap logos, which I want to appear side by side on a slide, in greyscale with a black background and no text (just the symbols, no 'UBISOFT' or 'GAMETAP' label.

I also need captures from the web of articles about Uru's first closure, and other failed MMOs. Preferrably these captures should exclude modern advertisements (no 'Spore' ads)... the best solution may be to edit the pages to trim out elements that don't fit, and stretch the articles into an appropriate shape for how I'd like to display them. The way I want the scene to play is as a sequence of "newspaper-clipping" type articles appearing, each on top of the next.

Finally, I need images from other MMOs that meet the pattern of 4 scenes I've described above. World of Warcraft is best for the "Town" scene, if someone captures a nice picture of Stormwind. Lord Chaos tells me that one of the last two scenes could easily come from Guild Wars.

This video is going to be all still images. No animated parts except for transitions.

Oh, as a final note, that last scene, I appreciate all of the suggestions. I think I've settled on a different idea for that scene though... I'll need a picture from Until Uru that is clearly from Until Uru. I'm thinking marker art that would be impossible to build in Live is the way to go.
