PS, the pop ups for the repeat of TPiD confirmed that Eloise Hawking is Daniel's mom.
Dang, she's a cool one. _________________

LOST TONIGHT, Yay!
Tonights bet: How will Ben react when he wakes up and sees Locke?
I'm betting even odds on either
a) The slight eye widening Ben gets when confronted with something he doesn't expect.
b) "Oh good, it worked, now lets get down to business" _________________

Well, Eleri, you're going to have to wait 2 weeks to see that reaction.
Yay, Charlotte! I wonder if she knew young Ben and Annie before leaving the island.
I wonder when Horace starts building the cabin in relation to all this. And who might his son be?
AND THE STATUE! WE FINALLY SAW THE STATUE! But, only for a moment. Grrrrr. |

That it most certainly did. The ancient history of the island is relevant to my interests. _________________ ~Moiety Jean

wow... so much good stuff there...
So... Smokey knows Anubis... would the statue have been Anubis?
and "what lies in the shadow of the statue?"... who are THEY now? Other, other, Others?
I need a scorecard to keep track of who's out to get who here.
and where is everyone else? Otherville has been deserted... did everyone go time-hopping? I miss Rose and Bernard. _________________ KI 182798

The giant statue certainly looks like Anubis, God of the Dead.
Richard Alpert could certainly pass for Egyptian-like.
I've finally decided once and for all that Ben is a bad guy. lol
How long was the Swan a quarantined station? We saw the model being built in '77. Was it created with world-saving button pushing in mind? Doubtful. So, what led to its conversion? We know it has nothing to do with the Purge because everyone was able to remove their masks the next morning. Faraday managed to make the storehouse of gas inert...or did he?
Faraday is dead or banished by '77. What happened? Does it have anything to do with the discovery in the Dharma tunnel? I thought it might be related to Pierre Chang's eventual limb issue as seen in one of the Orientation films but clearly he's hale and hearty when he greets Jack. What happened to Faraday?
BTW, I find it difficult to believe that Pierre Chang would greet new arrivals on the island under any circumstances given his multiple personalities in the various orientation films.
I'm sure we'll see Rose and Bernard again. I believe the island heals who it wants to heal and it healed Rose. There must be a reason. I'm certain Eleri's theory is correct about what happened to them but we haven't learned why. Can't wait to see what's in store for them.
It was nice to see Alex again. Even if it wasn't Alex.
So, can we assume that Locke and Eko experienced something similar to Ben during their encounter with Smoky?
I guess it's clear that we can thank Smoky for Remi, Ben's mom, Claire's horse, and all the other island's ethereal visitors. What's common between all of them is that they're dead. Is this Anubis's island Necropolis? Are they (the original inhabitants) the caretakers of the dead? The whispers, if they aren't the voices of various time-hoppers, could simply be ghosts with an interest in how things play out. I guess we should ask Miles.
We still don't know what happened to Annie.
Hmmm.... |

Maybe I'm dense, and it's been mentioned before and I missed it...
... But today I'm wondering if there is any connection or correlation, either overt or subtextual, between "Horace" and "Horus"...
Now... I can't wait to find out what lies in the shadow of the statue, and what Faraday's been up to the last 3 years...er... 30 years ago... er... i mean the last 3 years their time... or... our time... what time is it? <brain implodes> _________________ KI 182798

yeah. yeah, double post...
First, not to nit-pick Prof... but Anubis wasn't god of the dead, Osiris was.
Anubis was the caretaker of the dead... led the souls through the afterlife, testing their faith and taking them to their judgment... seems extremely appropriate in light of recent events...
...and with more and more of the Egyptian influence going on...
Richard Alpert... Richard Alpert... RA?!? _________________ KI 182798
