As you've said this yesterday in the afternoon your time, Marten, this means you'll be meeting with friends today, Saturday morning your time, right? And I suppose by declaring this here publicly it'll be an open meeting for others to join in, right? ... Hehe, just checking ... |

It's a small gathering of folks who've known each other for quite some time, and we want to keep it from getting too big. There might be room for a few last minute additions because of people who aren't showing up. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Right now,
Is anyone else here following the series of puzzle pictures over at the Cyan Worlds forum?
It begins with Greydragon's taunt here: http://forums.cyan.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=28&start=15#p388 _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I am! I honestly thought I had solved the first one, but it turned out I saw things that weren't ther.e. (Though I still think I see a robot in that picture...) |

Right now,
I should see if MJ's work at fixing up broken links on the site has addressed anything of particular importance to me.
But, it'll have to wait at least one more weekend. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Right now, it even made it to the Dutch press! This is really great!
I'm still contemplating if I'll go for the physical box or not... think I will! Frankly, I'm not really into the alien, scifi stuff. I loved the feel of antiquity that was there in Riven and Uru. The Ages in the D'niverse, however strange, nonetheless had a kind of realism.
Still, I'll happily support Cyan! I really like the fact that they want to get back to basics, so to speak, and want to make a game with the same appeal that Myst had when it launched.
After watching Rand's video at the kickstarter page I was sold.
By the way, apparently they have a composer that they will announce later. What's happened to Tim Larkin? |

Right now, Tim Larkin works for Valve. He is the composer for DOTA2. Presumably he would also score half life 3 if that is a real thing yet _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Hi, everyone ... it is great that you posted this here, Marten, I wasn't sure about that as I thought that all or at least most GT members and friends might still have a more close and constant connection amongst each other and some even to Cyan ...
Right now it is very nice to see you excited and enthusiastic again, Marten, and it is also great that Rand's video could convince you and make you change your mind, Erik ...
This video is really an absolutely awesome introduction, and this isn't only showtime ... in a beautiful, genuine and convincing way Rand conveyed the scope of their vision, very much building upon their decades-long precise knowledge of what fans of games/worlds like Myst and Riven wish and expect to experience and on decades of experience for themselves and thus expertise in creating worlds in many facets and on many platforms etc. which they intend to apply and integrate into those wondrous and magical new worlds they envision to create ...
As it seems many of the awesome old team at Cyan are ready to come aboard, and for me in general everything feels just right and believable ... Yes, I believe they can do it again ... They did it before and it might very well be that they're once again leading the way into a whole new time and gaming experience for the adventure game community per se ...
I mean, just think about what is happening in the world right now every single day and that will not stop, in the contrary, this is just the beginning ... They have given themselves two years for the development and final release, which is a lot, and much will happen and change until that time, worldwide and on a personal level etc ... Their visions might change and expand, the whole scope of the game will change as for implementation of support for the Occulus Rift one day, support for Linux, maybe even multiplayer support and whatnot ...
There is something big in development and it sounds absolutely intriguing, wonderful and promising ... Let's get ready for the ride and support them and see where it will all lead us ... |

This will be interesting. At the very least it's nice to see something new from Cyan instead of the same ol same ol. Hope this works out. |
