Now that we have a music player in our Reltos, I noticed a new "MyMusic" file in our game directory deposited by XP1. It was empty, so I filled it with some of my favorite MP3 and midi files. Unfortunately, they didn't play on my Relto boom box...
According to the ReadMe Text, we need to convert all of our tunes to wav, or ogg format in order to hear them. Does anyone have a link to a great converter that's FREE? _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

Without really doing a whole lot of experimenting myself, the best I can reccomend is that you just use music files from Uru for now. I'll play around with it later and see what I can do. _________________ The laws contrived by the Proud are their security, and their undoing. OGG Encoders - I use OggDrop myself.
http://www.vorbis.com/download_win.psp
They really should have included a link to that in the Readme.
Note: OggDrop does not convert MP3 to OGG; it converts WAV to OGG. If you have a bunch of MP3s, you will need to convert them to WAV first. Winamp can do that for you, but if you have the original CDs (and you DO have the originals, don't you? ) then you'll be better off re-ripping and encoding, because both MP3 and OGG are lossy compression formats and your re-encoded OGG won't sound as good as one made from an *original* WAV file.
Also note, the above URL is slightly out of date; Winamp 5 is out and has all the features of Winamp 2 and 3 combined.
You can find an enhanced file writer plugin for Winamp (versions 2 or 5) at http://home.hccnet.nl/th.v.d.gronde/dev/filewrite/. _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

If you have Easy CD Creator, you can just locate the sound file you want, click "convert," select ".wav," then locate the "My Music" folder. It's easy.
However, when I play back my music, the game automatically echos the song so it sounds horrible. I've played with the sound effects options and I can't find a way to turn off the echos. This drove me nuts in the city because I kept thinking someone was behind me. Does anyone know how to turn the echos off? _________________ Jaharen

I tried converting the MP3 files to wav files, then installed them in the Expack "MyMusic" directory. Unfortunately, when I enter my Relto hut and click on the music player, the game just locks up...
Guess I'll have to try converting them to ogg... _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

It's a Relto page you can get at the end of the game. _________________ Jaharen

Alright, I used CDex to convert some CDs to Ogg files. Copied them to Uru and they played on my music player without any problems. _________________

Tehl,
Does this mean you finally got the expansion pack working? What did you need to do to fix it? _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

Yes, I got my Uru working again.
The problem was which CD drive I was using. My CD/DVD ROM drive wasn't good enough for Uru. So since I kept the disc in that drive, it never worked. When I took the disc out and placed it my CD/DVD±R/RW drive, it worked fine. _________________
