Now that is cool! Just goes to show that what we're doing is getting spread around.
I can't really say who it might be though. Might not be anyone from here, even. I know that I posted the drop card idea in a couple places, and that the idea was spreading around. It's funny, because I was starting to think that the idea had been superseded by Eleri's demo CD's, but apparently there are people still dropping them. Fantastic!
I'd be really curious to know what the drop card looked like...

I've dropped a bunch. I think they're a niftyness Great to just carry around in your pocket and drop at random. You can't really do that with the cds _________________

Professor,
How are the CD's doing at the comic shop? Do I need to be sending some your way?

It's funny you should ask, Eric..... I'll be dropping off that first one hundred on Monday......I waaay underestimated how long it would take to make them. Man, that was boring...especially the labels! Printing out a hundred labels on my little deskjet printer (that likes to jam on a semi-regular basis) is quite time-consuming. I had to do them in batches. I joke about not having a life, but I really do have one ...and sitting around eye-balling the label sheet go through my printer was not my idea of a good time.
So, I'll let you know how the drop-off went on Monday. (Monday because it's quieter than later in the week) I'll post a picture. As far as your contribution, Eric...I'll leave it up to you. You can send me replacements now or later when the supply is low. If you want to send more my way now, PM me for my address. If you want to wait until the supply runs low, I'll PM you.
In the meantime, with Eleri's blessing, I sent a copy of the CD and a letter to PC Gamer magazine in the hopes that they will write a small blurb about the vigilante efforts to continue Uru. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Yeah, those labels eat time up like no one's business. _________________

Wow! Another great idea, Professor! I wonder what PC Gamer will do with it.

Miraculously, I've been able to make two stops at Midtown Comics since the weekend. Once on Saturday and again yesterday. Here I am displaying my wares at the counter. You can't tell from the picture but the store is huge. Two floors of everything you can imagine. Mine is the only display for a PC game.
Here's my display.......A little rough around the edges but after burning 100 CDs and (Grrrrrr ) labeling them (on a deskjet printer!!! double grrrr) it was all I could do to get them out the door.
I'll be checking in on the display on a weekly basis depending upon how fast it empties out..................Like the shirt? _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

If I didn't shave my head, I'd be pulling my hair out trying to find 8cm labels. I've been thinking that the smaller discs would make the demo CD more convient and boost the curiosity factor. Does anyone have a good source for the things??

I thought Eleri included the mini labels on the site. It was suggested earlier and I thought they were included in the newest version of the site. Gee, that sounded kind of repetitive....... _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Oh, I'm talking about the physical label sheets. I'm doing some looking right now. I was just hoping to find something local, but looks like I'll have to get them shipped to me. |

Eric, I got mine online at worldlabel.com.
The price is good, $14.95 for 600 labels (100 sheets, 6 labels per) and they also had templates you could download for MS Word or Adobe packages.
Cheers! _________________ KI 182798

As always, my good Professor...
You are, as they say, "The Man".
Or perhaps in the more colloquial vernacular...
"YOU 'DA MAN!!!" _________________ KI 182798
