Update - I managed to start an avvie. I got my relto book and started exploring the ages but once again I had the problem with freezing mid-link. I hopethis won't keep happening. Is anyone else experiencing this? I don't have this problem on any other shards. |

I've been on the GT shard a few times and have not experienced any technical difficulties. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Deius: I haven't heard of any unusual problems associated with the shard. We do have the normal problems like most other shards where it will hang on the authentication, etc. I have a Cron job that automatically does a server backup at 3:00AM PST at which time it does bounce the server, but brings it right back up again after the backup is complete.
If all else fails, try deleting your current avatar and then re-create it. Somehow it may have been corrupted in the vault. _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208

My experience with The Great Tree Shard has been excellent, thus far. However, Ashtar and I are both from Texas, so my ping rates to his server are consistenly in the 25 to 35 range. _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

A slight correction. The server is in Texas, but I'm in Spokane. So Mystlander gets better ping rates into my server than I do. Not fair!!! _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208

Nothing seems to be working for me, Ashtar. I tried several things.
When I tried to open the Gahreesen pole to get my book, it wouldn't open at all. I still don't have the Gahreesen book in my shelf yet because I always freeze mid-link from the book in the pole.
At that point I tried my hood book and it worked fine. I linked to the hood and back to Relto.
I then opened all the other bahro poles without any problems. I even linked to Teledahn just fine and went to the Gahreesen Bahro stone to try to link through that way, but I froze mid-link.
That's when I decided to try your advice and start a new avvie. This time I'm having the same problem I had in the first place. I can't even get to Relto.
Any other ideas? |

I plum forgot that you lived in Spokane and served as representative of The Great Tree at the Cyan Pizza Party! My bad...
As consolation, you are more than welcome to stay at my house and play UU on my "gaming" computer... should you ever decide to visit Dallas! _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

Is there a day/time sometime this weekend that we could get together online? I'm on Yahoo messenger with a user ID of uru_ashtar. What I would like to do is to wipe all of the logs just before you try again and then take a look to see what might be failing. Also there are logs in your game "log" folder that I will have you delete before you come on the shard. After you get stuck again and have to quit the game, you can send me any logs it generated at that point. _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208

Taneesha wrote: | Was last friday for the first time on your shard. As usual, even in the Tapestry, it was a bit empty, but it looked good. Had I think to do with the server just getting back on-line after being crashed for a few hours. It is nice to be able to go through the cleft and get your relto straight away. Thank you.
Can I import the completed prime that was available for download on the Uruobsession website? Didn't want to do it in the start, but would be nice.
Hope to meet you in D'ni soon, good luck with the Path of the Shell!!! |
Tanessha: Unfortunately due to a bunch of people who don't read the forums and get the facts, I've disabled saved game uploads. Everyone has been hoping that Chip will continue the development and create a check for Tpots or CC uploads but so far that hasn't happened.
The Tpots developement is steady with almost daily upgrades to the server. The latest news from the H'uru development team is encouraging in that the ages might start working soon, or at least the ability to complete the age _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208

I visited the standard GT shard last night but things were very quiet. It seems attendance has been sparse as of late. I myself have been dealing with work, school, and other games... in fact, I just finally finished Revelation, as I stubbornly avoided looking up any more hints after I had to use one on Haven months ago.
Have there been, or rather, will there be any sort of organized get-togethers soon? _________________ Durin Mephit * Member of Guild of Messengers - Unless otherwise stated, opinions are mine only and not Guild endorsed.

I would be in more except the end of a college semester is killer. Profs just love loading us down as we're getting ready to leave. I've also been really involved with a Christmas musical that had over 16,000 people in attendence this year alone. 120,000 people have seen it in the last 13 years. Check out it's website if you want. www.aneveningindecember.com _________________ Jaharen

After a long abscence I am back down in the Cavern and hope to catch up with you all soon. I've been on the Great Tree shard today and even though I was on my own the experience was excellent and it was just fantastic to be back down there seeing familiar places all over again. Hope to see you all soon.

Actually traffic on the other shards has been down as well. Although we enjoy chatting with others in the cavern, we are still explorers and looked forward to the possibility of new content and the ongoing storyline like we had in Live. Unfortunately, Until Uru doesn't hold the same promise of exploration that Live did.
As a case in point, I get far more traffic on the Tpots H'uru shard than the UU shard, even without the use of a interactive KI. People want new content, no doubt there.
Recently someone figured out how to enable the marker games with the AdminKI, and I'm pushing for a enhanced user KI with marker games and a few other enhancements. At least something that will keep down the boredom and make things a bit more fun.
Tolip and I are making a special point to be on the Great Tree Until Uru shard Wednesday evenings for those of you who would like to have a bit of fun. We have our warping tools ready _________________ Uru Live KI #: 69208
