It appears (I'm directly assuming) we will finally get to explore K'veer after all. This excites me beyond the level of rabid fanboyness.
If this is the case, then Myst will close as I've always envisioned. Brings a smile to my face just thinking about it.
[And so, ever so patiently, we wait.] |

This is going to sound stupid...especially since I've been playing Myst from the beginning...but I am doubly excited about seeing K'veer in full (or at least more of it) because I never quite got my brain wrapped around the idea that K'veer was D'ni. I know, I know, of course it was. But back in the Myst days it felt more like a piece of Myst island. Given the circumstances of our discovery I suppose that's not too far-fetched. When Uru came along and I learned I was going to be given the opportunity to explore the underground city, I was overjoyed. Was this the city I had heard about from Atrus? Was this the grand city I had read about in the books? Not for a minute did I ever stop and say, "Hey. I've been there before." Because I wasn't making the connections.
Yes, it would be appropriate to wrap up the series with a focal point being K'veer. And if they really want to wrap up the whole kit and kaboodle (for me, anyway) we'll be able to look out a window or step onto a balcony and see the Cavern again. Even if we don't get to explore the entirety of the island, which I assume we won't, a simple glimpse over the glowing lake will really bring the whole Myst/Uru saga home for me. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

It has always been my dream to see and explore beyond that (little) big room, ever since I finished Myst over ten years ago. If they let us do that, I would be in complete D'ni nirvana.
Just that. Full circle. |

I can't tell you guys how many times I've tried to find some hidden passage out of the room in K'veer. I felt like Atrus being trapped in that room as a teenager, looking for a way out, not trusting the Age 5 (Riven) book that Ghen had left him. (Okay, now I'm showing off my novel knowledge... sorry.) For me, the best way to end the series is to go back to the very beginning on the dock. After the final adventure, sit on the dock with Atrus and reminisce watching the sunset. He then hands me a descriptive book leading back home which he promised to write at the end of Myst. But, he makes sure that I take a linking book with me so that I can come back and visit.
P.S. From the BoA, I always imagined the room in K'veer to be a lot smaller than it was portrayed in the games. Did anyone else think this? _________________ Jaharen

Yes, more claustrophobic.....and much messier.
But I had no trouble switching gears. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

There are more screenshots available on Cyan Worlds. The only one we haven't seen in some way, shape, or form features a Moiety dagger and Uru-type paintings...

I feel your pain -- I was in fifth grade when I played through Myst, only to hit the roadblock in K'veer.

Oh... (and here I thought I found something special... ) I'm still excited about the pic though. It shows that elements from different games in the series are going to play a part. _________________ Jaharen

Definitely...guess we get to find out where the folks went after the Riven evac, maybe? I also notice liberal use of those bahro-cave spikes in a lot of the architecture.
Long Live MYST!
