|
|
I've been contacted by the Marketing Department at Prima Games about promoting their guide to Myst V. In exchange, we will have access to bonus goodies including:
Interview with the author
Game guides to give away
Art and screen shots
I'm going to be working with them to see how to best make this happen. _________________ #Brian Fioca

What?! Are you kidding? That's great, Brian. Do you know if they contacted any other parts of the community? It's a great idea. Keep us informed.

I'm assuming they have, but I'll try to work some angles and get some exclusives...
I'll keep ya posted. _________________ #Brian Fioca

Um............................. I was just, um..............you know............wondering....if, uh, anything was happening with this. No pressure, mind you. Just, uh, idle curiosity. You know, just killing time. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Here's the lastest reply from Prima:
Quote: |
Myst V will be launched around November, but we
are not sure of the exact launch date yet. Before that time, I will need to
get your shipping address for the case of guides we are sending you. I also
need a list of questions for the author of the guide, and then I will set up
an e-mail interview for you. When the time gets closer, we will be sending
you preview strategy and art and screen shots before the release date. On
your site, we would like a link to our E-guide and a picture of our print
guide cover two weeks before and after launch.
Meanwhile, I will keep in touch with you as the release date approaches.
|
So things are still a ways away, but we're going to need to start thinking of interview questions at some point...
You'll have to wait and see what we decide to do about giving away the strategy guides... B) _________________ #Brian Fioca

This is the first I'm hearing of a November release date. That's a minor bummer. Up to now I've only been hearing rumors of September. So, I guess I'm really jumping the gun.....even more so..........I'm a tad early. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

November? NOVEMBER?!!! What a bummer!
Didn't I read somewhere that it's coming out in Europe in September?
Time to start thinking of a vacation in Europe about that time...heh heh. _________________ PROUD MEMBER OF SAFETY FIRST 243

Yeah, everyone at UO is counting on September. I haven't said anything about this because they say they are getting that date from the various game sites. But, I assume Prima knows what they're talking about and I don't want to break any hearts.
I'd be perfectly fine if the Prima people were wrong, though. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Ack!!! November, NOVEMBER! /me crys and pouts
I was looking forward to a September release. In the past, they have always released the new titles around my birthday and that's always been nice. It seems to me that a November release date is a little late in the season for the Christmas sales. I hope Prima is wrong on this one
Looking forward to what will be offered to the Great Tree in the future for this promotion Brian. I'll keep everyone informed on the shard forum when we have more information.

Maybe they will compromise and it will release sometime in October. _________________ ~Moiety Jean

I'd rather it just be released "when it's done." TPotS was rushed to the market and we all saw the bugs that that caused.
I would imagine it really comes down to when Ubi thinks it should be released. Christmas is always a money-happy time of year, so November would be a good bet there. |
