Well everyone, it's been two whole years since the restoration was put on hold. With that in mind, I'd like to ask everyone what the most memorable moment was of our time in D'ni.
With new happenings and possibilities for the future, I just know that everyone is basking in nostalgia. What do you remember? What pulled you closer to the community? What immersed you into the world?
What something could you never forget? |

Hopping Barricades, definetly. I specifically remember a time when they had the stairs at the end of the Canyon Mall blocked off, the ones leading to the Concert Hall. But someone noticed that someone else had gotten over them, and about 20 people all rushed over there to try and figger out how to get past the blockade. "Jump here..." "No, start here on the cone" "Stand here and press run and hold for 2 seconds and jump and turn left at the same time..." It was awesome. The lag was so incredible that it took me nearly 45 minutes to get three tries at jumping the barricades, it was one of those move one step every 1.5 minutes sorts of situations.
And I loved it, because that was my first time in the Cavern where I was hanging out and meeting people (I was typically anti-social back then, didn't mix much) and we were having a blast...

I don't mean to be a Great Tree suck-up but the most exciting memories for me were the GT meetings. I didn't make as many meeting as others because of those crazy hours I used to work. And I didn't get to participate in the sit-in. And I didn't storm the pub. But even still, when I made my way into the Cavern and saw Brian or Daed or Farlesis or Mystlander (and all the others) was there I knew all my surface troubles were going to disappear. I was always caught up in the moment, caught up in our cause, caught up in the evolution of our happy group. And I'll never forget Kam's recruitment drive, God bless him.
As it becomes clearer that something interesting is going to happen in Ae'gura once again.....I can't help but wonder if it's possible to regain that sense of purpose, that sense of drive. Judging by what I read elsewhere, I have my doubts, I must admit. But, I remain optimistic and look forward to our return. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

I think my most memorable memories of the prologue is when they opened up the Nexus and allowed you into the city. Until then, Ae'gura was only viewed from a few balconies. At first, much of the city was closed and to explore further, you had to become quite good at herding cones and jumping over the barricades. Slowly the DRC allowed more access and we would make new discoveries. It's hard to put into words the emotions I felt when first walking into the Hall of Kings, or seeing the common library for the first time. Exciting times they were, and I look forward to the future.

I gotta say, hearing the Bahro in Ae'gura for the first time... Just being there when it first happened, everyone running around trying to find the source of the sounds, wondering what they were! That was awesome. _________________ KI: 34353 |

First time in Prologue....
Linked to the Gallery from Kadish. Music off, ambient & spot sound effects maxed, surround speakers up loud. Arrived in 1st person. Saw nobody ahead of me.
Turned around and came face to face with a black zombie with staring eyes at the precise instant that a Bahro screamed.
I literally screamed my brains out and jumped out of the chair, bringing my wife running in panic.
Talk about immersion! |

Two years on and I've never forgotten a moment. The moment I got the email from Zandi inviting me down into the cavern was such a great thrill was I going there immediately. The first night I logged in I met Kyven and someone else who sadly I've forgotten his name But we had such great fun in Eder Kemo, just being in the Age with other people was brilliant.
Meeting everyone here has been such a highlight, such great and brilliant people. To be seperated by an ocean, time or country has no bounds in Uru. It's odd to have such an emotional attachment to a game, but that's the great beauty of Myst and what Cyan does. You can't help but be drawn into the Ages, the story and history that you do become passionate and immersed in it all.
Of course the Great Tree jackets. I still have mine professor |

I too remember running around looking for the source of the screams having no clue what they were. Pretty creepy when I first heard them.
As great as being in the cavern was, my most memorable moment was when I got my email invitation. I had argued with one of my professors about a grade earlier in the day and had come away really depressed. I prayed, "God, I could really use some good news right now." Low and behold, when I got home, I had my invitation waiting for me. I literally ran around the house for about 30 minutes before I was calm enough to enter the cavern for the first time. That's a good memory.
P.S. I got an A in the class, so I guess I proved my point. _________________ Jaharen
