ResEng233 |
Where'd you get that message from?
And for all these questions of truthfulness and what-not... I could care less. I've got a new
and exciting job, and that has been doing a fine job at keeping me busy.
I have worked with the DRC as a Restoration Engineer. I also know why the DRC (or maybe
just ResEng233, on that I am not sure) would want to keep that knowledge from being
accepted by the explorers. Eventually, that will not matter; all will be revealed in due time.
If in distrust you ban me from this forum, as I assume will be done, just as ResEng233
did... then you hinder my efforts to communicate to the explorer community and you lose a
potential friend. If you must, do it. I am not causing anyone harm, but it is your forum, and
your community.
I am getting very tired of all this. I'll see everyone in the Cavern anyhow, in which I expect
many awkward confrontations because of this series of incidents.
Good day,
Chris Clement |

Well, Chris, I'll say this for you, your posts are as vague as the DRC's. LOL
I can't speak for Brian but I don't think you're in any immediate danger of being banned from this forum. It's not like you're crowding us out or anything. You were asked to 'fess up concerning your former status as a Restoration Engineer and you did...you're sticking to your guns and that's fine with me.
Besides, you say we'll learn all once we're back in the Cavern. Okay. I don't need to learn the whole truth in the hallowed halls of the Great Tree. I can wait. I can be patient.
Regarding our potential to hinder your efforts to communicate with the explorer community....particularly this (GT) community....you're speaking but you're not saying anything. If you are open with us you'll find us EXTREMELY receptive. However, if you continue in your present fashion, you may find the opposite is true.
I look forward to meeting you in the Cavern. Hell, I look forward to a lot of things. As always, I await something really interesting.... _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

I hate banning. Honestly there are more fun ways to get someone to stop posting to a forum.
Joking aside, I really don't want you to feel unwelcome, Chris. Sorry about the skepticism, we're just down here wondering our butts off about what's going to happen next. I mean I'm sure you can understand that.
If the DRC are planning something, us Great Treeites should be the first to know about it.
If there's any group willing to keep a skeptical eye on the DRC, it's the Great Tree. _________________ KI: 34353 |

I don't mean to offend or challenge.
The DRC are vague because of ignorance, for the most part. My secrecy is for good reason. Words die soon after their spoken. The written word remains for everyone to see. I would be wise to remain quiet about where I've been and what I've seen until I am within the comforting walls of the Cavern.
I'm sure you'd understand if you knew the circumstances.
Thanks for being patient,
Chris |

That's a big if! Are you down in the caverns fairly frequently? My KI is in my sig. I wouldn't mind chatting you up in a more... private environment.
EDIT: I just realized that sounded REALLY creepy. _________________ KI: 34353 |

Well, seeing as how Opportunistic Manipulation Through Specious Fakery is one of the ongoing themes of the Myst mythos (i.e. certain male relatives of Atrus), the opportunistic manipulations of this particular Specious Faker at least are in character....
...sorta?

Very wise. My feeling is, we've been patient this long, another little while really isn't gonna hurt much. Since when was certainty about ANYthing part of our explorations anyways?
Chris, the folks here were extremely hurt by the events of the latter days of the First Restoration, specifically those involving Phil Henderson. Trust was severely broken, and it takes a long time to rebuild that. Particularly in regards to fakeries and/or behind the scenes manipulations of the DRC. I hope you don't misunderstand the intent to get to the bottom of this situation. If anything, it serves to fuel suspicions regarding the intentions of the DRC.
I too would be very interested to hear your words and stories, at whatever time you deem it appropriate to share them. If it is worth hearing, we will wait patiently until the time is right! It seems as the Victor and Co have somethin in the works which involves a return to the Cavern. I am sure there will be many awkward reunions, but such is the way of things. Hopefully we can sort out some of the past differences and move on with the more important bits...

Chris,
We're not going to ban you. But we're not necessarily going to believe you, either. I'm sure you understand why we have to be so careful.
Everyone else,
Chris is allowed to post here, mainly because I don't like banning people, at least until he says or does anything that either reflects negatively on The Great Tree, or otherwise harms us. I advise you to make up your own minds about what he says.
Just for information's sake, he isn't lying about where he lives. He is indeed posting from California. _________________ #Brian Fioca

Dang, I had forgotten that my KI had changed numbers.
It's currently 00190899. Still trying to get in touch with you underground, Chris. _________________ KI: 34353 |

Brian,
Anchorage, Alaska? I really like it up there, its a nice place.
You speak wise words. I don't expect anyone to believe me as much as I believe them, when communicating by internet. Its a good deal.
By the way... How do you know I'm posting from California? |

I run this board! I can see everyone's IP address. You're either posting from CA or you're remoted in to a machine in CA. I even know your ISP. _________________ #Brian Fioca
