I can confirm two things:
1.) They added the /me command, so if I typed "/me is weird beyond belief" the purple text (for things like waving, sneezing, dancing, etc.) would say "Anna Catherine is weird beyond belief."
2.) Apparently all of our throwing ourselves off cliffs and bridges in the name of safety and the DRC has paid off, and the Great Zero is calibrated. So we have GPS now, basically. Don't you just feel proud? Good work, team!
I've heard rumours of other things including a new stone and a new book (presumably a text, not a linking book,) but have not seen either of these things, and so remain a skeptic. I think the stone is particularly unlikely. However, the /me command will keep me occupied for days.
Very cool update, actually.

I've searched all the places one might expect to find such a thing (behind floating statues, in other people's private offices, that sort of thing) to no avail. I hear that a stone we already have access to has stopped disappearing, although how you can tell if something isn't going to disappear is beyond me. No idea what this book talk is about, although I didn't check the roof so it might be there.
/me is just surprised that this update has any tangible features and isn't entirely bug fixes in the first place. |

I have not confirmed this myself, but according to some people I consider reliable (well, at least as reliable as me, anyway...) marker games have also been enabled.
The book was rumoured to be in the 'hood classroom, but I haven't found anyone who has actually seen this in any 'hood, so I think that one's probably either wishful thinking or someone didn't notice the purple book before and assumed it was new. Or unless it's in the Egg Room. I don't go in there. It's too freaky (what's with that floating egg?)
There are also rumours of the library stone being back, but I also heard on another occasion that it was, and it proved inaccurate then, as it most likely is now.

Me too, actually. Cyan's definition of "nothing new in UU" seems rather different from mine. Not that I'm complaining, it's awesome, but I am surprised.
Good stuff.

I think they are looking it as being "no new CYAN content or fixes for UU" that leaves those fans who are so inclined to submit fixes.
Strangely I find the egg-room peaceful, there’s something inherently serene about a big blue hovering egg don't you think.... no? Just me then...

I, too, find the egg room peaceful, Daniel. But that peaceful feeling is tempered by my lack of knowledge as to what that room was all about. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

We all have our issues. Some people are scared of Yeesha. Some people are scared of the Bahro. I'm scared of the little room with the floating egg. It's all just individual psychology, I think.
Part of it is that I'm claustrophobic even in virtual worlds, so being in D'ni at all is a bit of a challenge for me because it's underground, and being in anything smaller than... well... D'ni makes me really, really edgy (that's why you'll usually see me in open spaces like the courtyard or bridges rather than enclosed spaces like the pub or classroom.) I can do it and I've gotten used to it, but it can still be a concern at times.
So I'm not in a great state to begin with going into the Egg Room, and the small dark room with the floating egg (which I find incredibly creepy for no good reason) is enough to send me right back out again.
So as I said, individual psychology. And the fact that I'm about as D'ni as the average potted plant, so a lot of their cultural stuff is lost on me. I'm the weird one, not you guys, and I'm aware of that.

If you're weird, you're wonderfully so. And there's no doubt about it, the egg room(s) are definitely claustrophobic. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Back in the days of the first Beta... I seem to remember the 'egg rooms' as private chambers... if you were in there with a person or people with the door closed, only those people could read your chat or hear your voice (back when voice chat was a viable option). People could "hear" you speak if you were close enough to them, regardless of doors or walls, except in the egg rooms... no evesdropping there.
Conversely, the meeting room in the hood, everyone in the room could hear you speak if you stood at the podium. I think that both rooms were there to 'augment' the speech machanism, which never made it out of beta.
Here ends the history lesson... now what's all this about an update??
/me prepares to head into an updated cavern... _________________ KI 182798

Hmmm...
I got the /me feature, but not apparently the GZPS.
I wanted to get to the GZ to see if *I* needed to do anything further, but they apparently added a new Crash to Desktop feature when I try to link there.
I'll give it another go later... _________________ KI 182798

I think you need to finish all of the marker missions to get the GZPS (is that the official name? It should be!) _________________ KI: 34353 |

I think the DRC call it "KI P. S." A ResEng named Chris who was working on Laxman's team at the time named it that. (Incidently it was this ResEng that Chris Clemment imposter was pretending to be.)
I've heard some people have lost their GZ links in the nexus and its hood dependant, do we still have ours?
Oh on the subject of the room of Eggy-ness: I'm with the Prof on this Anna your not weird your just wonderfully unique
As for their purpose Prof I too would like to know more about why they are there. I've probably mentioned it before but they way I understand it is that the "egg" is actually ment to symbolise a seed of the great tree and they are actually prayer/meditation rooms. I noticed that the doors to each room is shaped like a drop of water, so each person praying to Yahvo is like another drop of water nourishing the great tree. The KI blocking feature makes sense as you don't want someone sending your a message while your praying/meditating although I'm sure it was a great resource for the gossips and conspirators of D'ni
Anyway enough de-railment of topic by me (honest ) how about that update huh? (see I -can- be on topic) |

My KI coordinates are working, and I don't remember any of my links being missing; I feel like I would have noticed. The thing is, I haven't had any reason to go to the Great Zero since the update as my missions were already done, so I haven't really tried.
You're right that it's 'hood dependent, but I think our 'hood should still be good based on my GZ stuff apparently working fine. Will check, though.
EDIT: Both Observation and Courtyard links were still present in my Nexus. I linked through to both just to make sure the links worked and didn't do anything strange, but they behaved exactly as expected. I think we're good, GZ-wise.
