What's everyone's thoughts on the Egg Room?
My own thoughts are that the Egg is the symbol of birth and creation in connection with the Maker, Yavo. The shaft of light that comes from the egg seems to be pointing in some direction far into the starry sky that is mapped on the ceiling, maybe pointing to their place of origin. Which isn't the first time a great civilisation has held beliefs of coming from the stars. |

Perhaps the light originates in Garternay and shines down upon the Earth, the Egg, where they will begin again, be reborn. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Maybe it's just a sculpture with a 320watt light above it, guys. Hate to burst the creative bubble, but..... _________________ Pleased to meet you, won't you guess my name?... |

Your world must be very dull, indeed, Kam. But, thanks for your insight. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Well, I think I might actually agree with Kam here (!!!!). The D'ni were culturally sophisticated enough to have beauty for the sake of beauty- I don't think everything they did has to be a symbol. I would prefer to just admire the elegance of the sculpture, rathar than try to read a meaning into it. _________________ The laws contrived by the Proud are their security, and their undoing. Sorry, I guess I lost my sense of humor for a minute there. Anyway, I don't think there's any harm in stretching the imagination a little. It's what we need more of in this world as far as I'm concerned.
My apologies. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

So... what happens to the "egg" when all five rooms are filled with explorers? _________________ URU Live KI #: 50911 MOULa KI #11697212

Some of us tried that yesterday and nothing happened. Pretty disappointing. _________________ Jaharen

This is a weird thought. Almost every room that's available to us performs some type of function. Maybe all of them. So far we understand that the Egg Room is for private discourse. But, could there be more? If the Egg is in fact function and not just form, maybe some sort of "activation" still has to take place. If not, it's the fanciest private chat room I've ever seen. Wait...it's the only chat room I've ever seen. _________________ Professor Daniel Askew - Securing our reality from the machinations of the Station Masters. |

Lol, I'm still waiting on them opening the actual homes. I'm sure we can learn a lot to see how they lived. _________________ KI- 02339446 |

Back when Sharper opened his 'hood's egg room, I remember someone mentioning to me that it was a sort of room for meditation. Did we mention that already? Well, I think it's very plausible. Were the D'ni known to meditate? _________________

As far as I have seen, the egg rooms are simply private discussion rooms. Remember you can fit more than one person in there, plus its a great little area to get away. |

It seems the little shelf under the window through which one views the egg is just right for a linking book. Future content?
Also, when you close the door to a private room, it opens on its own in 3 minutes! A clue? Therefore...
IT'S A THREE MINUTE EGG TIMER!! HOOHAHAHA! _________________ Your friendly neighborhood balladeer,

And in the distance, we hear a Bahro play a rimshot...
Anyway, I think it's where the D'ni kids went to make out and smoke after their classes next door. _________________ Pleased to meet you, won't you guess my name?... |
