ANNOUNCEMENT: Town Hall Meeting w/ GameTap CM Ron Meiners (Randomos)
Shorah Explorers! We are pleased to announce our second round of Town Hall meetings. This time our honored guest will be Ron Meiners, UrU Community Manager of GameTap. In this meeting we will have Randomos discuss his hopes and dreams for UrU Live, what is his driving force, what are his future plans as Community Manager and to welcome him back to the Myst community and his views on UrU and the Myst series, etc.
Please submit any questions you may have via PM on the DRC Site Forums to any of the Liaisons and we will do are best to get them answered for you. PM'd questions will be accepted up till Monday, 07 August 2006 only. Any PM'd questions received after this will not be accepted or answered. We apologize for this, but in order to get these questions submitted to the guest in a timely manner, we have to have a cut-off date.
As usual, the format will be for the first half of the meeting to answer pre-submitted questions. Then for the second half of the meeting we will open the floor for questions. Please remember that if you have a question during the open floor portion, that you need to PM the appointed Liaison with "QUESTION" and you will then be added to the queue. We ask that you please have your question ready (typed out) so that when your name is called we can avoid any delays.
The new format for this and all future meetings is that we ask that all attending explorers and guests to please STAND during the meeting. We also ask that you do not use your KI if you can avoid it. We are doing our best to find any and all methods to ensure a "stable" environment for all attending and to avoid any crashing or vanishing of explorers and our guests. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this.

Yay for Town Halls!
They might not have any new news, but it's a great gathering.
Cheers,

Definitely! But it was new news for a lot of people who didn't attend Mysterium... maybe. _________________

I find myself still wondering exactly what it is a community manager does though! We're generally a well-behaved bunch...
Honestly though, what does randomos do? Or is it one of those jobs that will be more obvious once Live gets underway? I remember him from Prologue, great guy, and familiar with us from last time around. Nice to see him back.

They take the requirements from the customers and give them to the engineers. Well, they don't actually talk to the customers, their secretaries do... (j/k)
It's the community member's job to regularly check the "pulse" of the community and make sure there's feedback to the business side of things, as well as distribute information back to the community.
I can totally see that it would be a full time job to keep up with all the boards/websites/communities and make sure the correct information is out there and that feedback gets up the chain. _________________ #Brian Fioca

Just adding on to Brian's great description...
A DRC Liaison acts as a bridge between the explorers and the DRC.
A Community Manager acts as a bridge between the fans and the publisher/developer.

hunh, ok, well that makes sense. Thanks Bri and Deg! (heh, posted at the same time...)
Imagine your job being to check all these forums daily. I do that anyways, but in spite of my job, not because of it... _________________
